The erector spinae plane (ESP) block is an increasingly utilized regional block in the emergency department, representing one effective alternative or adjunct to opioid analgesia in patients presenting with rib fractures. While there is growing interest, its widespread adoption faces hurdles, such as a lack of appropriate training resources. Gelatin-based phantoms to simulate human anatomy have been widely used to facilitate ultrasound-guided procedures, although no such model for the ESP block has yet been defined in the literature.

However, long periods needed to develop new varieties through traditional breeding are a major obstacle. Thus, new techniques allowing faster genetic advance are needed.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFLentil is an important pulse that contributes to global food security and the sustainability of farming systems. Hence, it is important to increase the production of this crop, especially in the context of climate changes through plant breeding aiming at the development of high-yielding and climate-smart cultivars. However, conventional plant breeding approaches are time and resources consuming.

The limited-transpiration (TRlim) trait under high vapor pressure deficit (VPD) could be a way to conserve water and increase yield under water deficit conditions.

Specific rooting patterns can be associated with drought avoidance mechanisms that can be used in lentil breeding programs. In all, 252 co-dominant and dominant markers were used for Quantitative Trait Loci (QTL) analysis on 132 lentil recombinant inbred lines based on greenhouse experiments for root and shoot traits during two seasons under progressive drought-stressed conditions.
