The 16-electron heterobimetallic complexes of rhodium [Rh(COD){Al(Phpz)Me}] () and [Rh(COD){Al(Phpz)Me}] () were obtained by metathesis reaction of the sodium bis- () and tris(pyrazolyl)aluminate () with [RhCl(COD)]. For , H and C NMR in solution along with DFT calculations are consistent with a κ-coordination mode of the bis(pyrazolyl)aluminate to a square-planar Rh(I) center.

In general, preoperative assessment is similar regardless of whether a woman is pregnant, but cardiovascular, pulmonary, hematologic, and renal changes of pregnancy can increase surgical risk and must be taken into account. Special management considerations include pregnancy-associated laboratory changes, timing of surgery, anesthesia choice, intubation precautions, patient positioning, preoperative blood typing, intraoperative fetal monitoring, and venous thromboembolism prophylaxis.

Objectives: There is interest in identifying chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) endotypes that align pathophysiology with clinical observation and outcomes. CRS with polyps (CRSwNP) has classically been studied with reference to tissue eosinophilia, but the role of other cellular infiltrates remains uncharacterized. No particular tissue prognosticators have been described for CRS without nasal polyps (CRSsNP).

In temperate climates, beekeeping operations suffer colony losses and colony depopulation of during overwintering, which are associated with biotic and abiotic stressors that impact bees' health. In this work, we evaluate the impacts of abscisic acid (ABA) dietary supplementation on honey bee colonies kept in Langstroth hives. The effects of ABA were evaluated in combination with two different beekeeping nutritional strategies to confront overwintering: "honey management" and "syrup management".

The present study examined sources of bias in the placement in graphic space of a symmetrical drawn figure (a tree). A previous study using a child sample found an overall leftward placement bias, independent of participants' reading/writing direction experience [Picard & Zarhbouch, 2014.

Growing interest in processed frozen products with similar characteristics to natural products has generated the study of new products in the food industry field. The characteristics of each matrix, the process of elaboration, composition, and structure of the additives and the interactions amongst these modify the food's texture, structure, physical and sensory properties and, hence, interfere directly with consumer acceptance. This research studied the effect of adding cryoprotectors during frozen storage on the rheological, physicochemical, structural, and microbiological properties in a Mafafa-quinoa-olive oil puree.

In the case of the essential oils, their inclusion in edible films is limited by their low water solubility. Nanoemulsions are thermodynamically stable and transparent systems that can be used as a way of incorporating essential oils into edible film matrices.

The aim of this study was to investigate the physicochemical properties of film-forming solutions and films prepared using unripe banana starch-chitosan and AV gel at different AV gel concentrations.
Results: Our results showed that AV gel considerably affected the rheological and optical properties of the edible coatings, mainly due to increased amounts of solids brought by the AV gel.
Objective: 1) To describe implant success in the posterior maxillary when a sinus augmentation procedure was performed simultaneously with implant placement and then compare differences in success when sinus augmentation was delayed in patients attending the maxillofacial surgery clinic of the University of Puerto Rico, 2008 through 2011. 2) To determine sociodemographic characteristics, ASA classification, graft material, and final restoration and, using a questionnaire, determine as well patient satisfaction.
Methods: A retrospective cohort study was conducted (approved by IRB) with 172 patients, using medical records.
Purpose: Two quality controlled inter-laboratory exercises were organized within the EU project 'Realizing the European Network of Biodosimetry (RENEB)' to further optimize the dicentric chromosome assay (DCA) and to identify needs for training and harmonization activities within the RENEB network.
Materials And Methods: The general study design included blood shipment, sample processing, analysis of chromosome aberrations and radiation dose assessment. After manual scoring of dicentric chromosomes in different cell numbers dose estimations and corresponding 95% confidence intervals were submitted by the participants.
The possibility to reduce the culture time and volume of blood and reagents required for the chemical Premature Chromosome Condensation (PCC) assay is demonstrated in this work. Peripheral whole blood was exposed to gamma radiation (1-20 Gy). Lymphocytes were cultured for 40 h, using 50 μl of blood and 450 μl of culture medium.

Based on an understanding of the development of particle stress (horizontal momentum carried vertically on average by the particle phase) in monodisperse systems at various particle Stokes numbers, several bidisperse and continuously polydisperse systems are simulated which are chosen to understand how flows containing blends of particle Stokes numbers can be effectively modeled in the dilute regime. Under noninteracting conditions, the particle stresses from particles with different inertia and different feedback stresses are shown to be linearly additive, providing a convenient method for effectively representing dispersed phase stress in polydisperse systems.

The objectives of the study were: 1) to establish the BMI prevalence in 12-year olds residing in Puerto Rico, and 2) to determine BMI differences by sex, public-private school type, and geographic regions.
Methods: Data was obtained from an island-wide probabilistic stratified sample of 1,582 twelve-year-olds (53% girls and 47% boys).
The fast assessment of the dose received by exposed persons is crucial in radiological accidents, so the 48 h of cell culture in conventional cytogenetic dosimetry in addition to some limitations after high doses becomes a disadvantage. The premature chromosome condensation (PCC) assay permits to analyse enough cells after high radiation exposure, and the score of PCC-R may reduce the culture time up to 40-42 h. Peripheral whole-blood samples were exposed to 1-10 Gy of gamma radiation and cultured during 40 and 42 h.
