Medical school students' perspectives on virtual anatomy education in a developing country.

Understanding the fundamental role anatomy education plays in medical training and taking into consideration the nascence of online education in Nigeria, this study evaluated the perceptions of medical and allied-health students toward online anatomy education both during the COVID-19 lockdown in Nigeria and for the future. For this study, Google Form questionnaires were distributed via different social and academic platforms to medical and allied-health students in Nigeria between September 28 and December 17, 2020. A total of 954 students participated in the study and 947 valid responses were recorded.

Determination of the width of the presacral space on magnetic resonance imaging among adults in south-western Nigeria.

Background: The presacral space is a clinically relevant potential space and contents may give rise to a variety of benign and malignant conditions, hence the need for detailed knowledge of its dimensions.

Purpose: To determine the width of the presacral space and existing variations among adults in south-western Nigeria using a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technique.

Material And Methods: A total of 369 consenting adults were included in the study.

Predictors of online health information seeking behaviour of non-medical undergraduate students might vary.

Background: As more people across Generations X, Y, and Z continue to use the Internet meet their information needs, this study assesses the characteristics influencing the online health information seeking behaviour (OHISB) of non-medical university students. Previous studies on the subject in Nigeria have largely assessed the concept of OHISB among university students without examining the determinants of such behaviour.

Objective: To determine the predictors of OHISB among non-medical undergraduate students of a Nigerian private university.

Childhood diarrhoea in southwestern Nigeria: Predictors of low osmolarity ORS and zinc use among mothers.

Objectives: Diarrhoea is a leading cause of mortality among children in resource-limited countries. However, very scarce literature exists regarding the factors influencing the awareness and use of low osmolarity oral rehydration salts (Lo-ORS) and zinc supplementation in the management of childhood diarrhoea among mothers of children under 5 years of age in southwestern Nigeria. This study, performed in Lagos, Nigeria, aimed to address this lack of knowledge.

Complementary feeding pattern and its determinants among mothers in selected primary health centers in the urban metropolis of Ekiti State, Nigeria.

The incidence of malnutrition in the first two years of life has been directly linked with inappropriate complementary feeding practices along with high infectious disease levels. This study was therefore aimed to assess the complementary feeding pattern among mothers of children aged zero to two years in selected health centres in Ado Ekiti, the capital of Ekiti State, Nigeria. The study was cross-sectional in design.

Awareness and risk burden of diabetes mellitus in a rural community of Ekiti State, South-Western Nigeria.

Objective: In recent times, Diabetes Mellitus (DM) has had a rapid increase in developing countries as a result of changing lifestyles among the people. This study was therefore aimed to investigate the level of awareness of DM and its associated risk factors in Afao: a rural community located in Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Ekiti State, Nigeria.

Design: The study was descriptive cross-sectional in design.
