Objective: To examine the effect of skoochies, an illicit cocktail drink, on testicular and sperm function in male rats.
Design: Twenty-five adult male Wistar rats were assigned randomly into five groups (n = 5) as follows: normal saline; skoochies; Cannabis sativa; codeine; and tramadol. The cocktail (skoochies) used in this study was formulated with the following composition: codeine (5 mg/kg); tramadol (20 mg/kg); and cannabis extract (2 mg/kg).
Background: Following curricular revisions at the Faculty of Dentistry of the Obafemi Awolowo University, no formal evaluation of its alignment and implementation has been carried out. This study aimed to evaluate the alignment of an Oral surgery curriculum and to determine students' learning experiences and perceptions of the curriculum.
Methodology: This was a mixed-method study conducted at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria.
Background: The psychological problems associated with facial trauma may sometimes pose additional health concerns for the injured patient. Understanding the gaps in the Oral and Maxillofacial surgeons' (OMFS) awareness of patient in need of specialist mental health intervention is important in ensuring holistic care for the trauma patient.
Objectives: To determine the knowledge, practices and self-assessed level of competence of Nigerian Oral maxillofacial surgeons/trainees regarding psychological problems associated with facial trauma and to determine their perceived need for training in assessment of psychological consequences following facial trauma.

Objectives: This study determined the effect of platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) on extraction socket bone regeneration and assessed the patterns and determinants of bone regeneration after the surgical extraction of impacted mandibular third molars.
Materials And Methods: This prospective study randomly allocated 90 patients into two treatment groups: A PRF group (intervention group) and a non-PRF group (control group). After surgical extractions, the PRF group had PRF placed in the extraction socket and the socket was sutured, while the socket was only sutured in the non-PRF group.

This study is a first step in providing an answer to the question "how do learners perceive preclinical medical education in Ife" with the aim of obtaining information which can serve as basis for the review of teaching methods and improvement of learning environment.
Methodology: A questionnaire adopted from two validated questionnaires (Dundee Ready Education Environment Measure questionnaire from Dundee and another from a study carried out in Bangladesh) was administered to 187 respondents comprising 106 final year students and 81 newly qualified doctors to obtain the information about their perception of teaching and learning of the three major preclinical participants.
This article was migrated. The article was marked as recommended. This study investigated how Final Year Students and Newly qualified Doctors of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Medical School perceive the applicability of the three pre-clinical subjects (Anatomy, Biochemistry and Physiology) to clinical studies and medical practice with the aim of ascertaining whether or not the students are able to establish a real connect between knowledge acquired in the pre-clinical years and their experience during clinical exposure.

Purpose: This investigation assesses the effect of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) gel on postoperative pain, swelling, and trismus as well as healing and bone regeneration potential on mandibular third molar extraction sockets.
Patients And Methods: A prospective randomized comparative clinical study was undertaken over a 2-year period. Patients requiring surgical extraction of a single impacted third molar and who fell within the inclusion criteria and indicated willingness to return for recall visits were recruited.
