Purpose: The AMPLIFY trial recently established fixed-duration acalabrutinib, venetoclax, and obinutuzumab (AVO) as a new standard-of-care option for patients with previously untreated chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) with wild-type ; however, due to the chemoimmunotherapy control arm, AMPLIFY excluded patients with high-risk aberration, for whom current standards of care are continuous Bruton tyrosine kinase inhibitor therapy or alternatively fixed-duration venetoclax-based doublets. AVO has not previously been evaluated in patients with CLL with aberration.

Methods: This investigator-sponsored, multicenter, phase II study enrolled patients with treatment-naïve CLL enriched for high-risk CLL, defined by aberration (ClinicalTrials.

Cross-electrophile coupling (XEC), defined by us as the cross-coupling of two different σ-electrophiles that is driven by catalyst reduction, has seen rapid progression in recent years. As such, this review aims to summarize the field from its beginnings up until mid-2023 and to provide comprehensive coverage on synthetic methods and current state of mechanistic understanding. Chapters are split by type of bond formed, which include C(sp)-C(sp), C(sp)-C(sp), C(sp)-C(sp), and C(sp)-C(sp) bond formation.

Currently, postulated trends and law regulations tend to direct polymer technology toward sustainability and environmentally friendly solutions. These approaches are expressed by keeping materials in a loop aimed at the circular economy and by reducing the environmental burdens related to the production and use of polymers and polymer-based materials. The application of recycled or waste-based materials often deals efficiently with the first issue but at the expense of the final products' performance, which requires various additives, often synthetic and petroleum-based, with limited sustainability.

Marginal zone lymphoma (MZL) can have varied presentations and pathologic features, including high Ki-67 expression ( > 20%) as well as increased numbers of large B cells (LC). However, there are limited data available demonstrating the prognostic significance of these variables in patients with MZL. In this multi-institutional retrospective cohort study of patients with MZL treated at 10 centers, we evaluated the association between the presence of Ki-67 expression and increased LCs on survival and risk of histologic transformation (HT).

Background And Objectives: Exposure of the root entry zone (REZ) of the trigeminal nerve (TN) for microvascular decompression is commonly obtained with a retrosigmoid approach, with or without endoscopic assistance. We hypothesized that adequate exposure of the TN REZ could be obtained through an endoscopic retrolabyrinthine (RL) approach. We aim to quantify exposure of the REZ of the TN using endoscopic RL approach, with and without drilling of the suprameatal tubercle of the internal auditory canal.

Article Synopsis
  • There is limited knowledge about the risk of central nervous system (CNS) involvement in high-grade B-cell lymphoma, not otherwise specified (HGBL NOS), prompting a study that assessed baseline CNS involvement, recurrence rates, and management strategies in patients treated from 2016 to 2021.
  • In the study of 160 adults, 7% exhibited baseline CNS involvement, which was linked to MYC rearrangement and certain sites of involvement, but did not significantly impact overall survival outcomes compared to those without CNS involvement.
  • The risk of CNS recurrence within three years was found to be 11%, with patients showing initial CNS involvement facing a much higher risk (48.5%), while various other factors such as blood involvement and

Little is known about risk factors for central nervous system (CNS) relapse in mature T-cell and natural killer cell neoplasms (MTNKNs). We aimed to describe the clinical epidemiology of CNS relapse in patients with MTNKN and developed the CNS relapse In T-cell lymphoma Index (CITI) to predict patients at the highest risk of CNS relapse. We reviewed data from 135 patients with MTNKN and CNS relapse from 19 North American institutions.

Article Synopsis
  • High-intensity end-of-life care is burdensome without meaningful clinical benefits, and this study aims to uncover predictors among older adults with common cancers like breast, prostate, lung, and colorectal cancer.
  • The analysis used SEER-Medicare data from 2011 to 2015, focusing on Medicare beneficiaries aged 65 and older who passed away from these cancers, assessing various clinical and demographic factors.
  • Key findings revealed that increased comorbidity, female sex, Black race, living in populous or poorer areas, and having state-subsidized Medicare premiums were associated with higher chances of receiving high-intensity EoL care, while older age and living in the Midwest were linked to lower likelihoods.

A search for events with a dark photon produced in association with a dark Higgs boson via rare decays of the standard model Z boson is presented, using 139  fb^{-1} of sqrt[s]=13  TeV proton-proton collision data recorded by the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. The dark boson decays into a pair of dark photons, and at least two of the three dark photons must each decay into a pair of electrons or muons, resulting in at least two same-flavor opposite-charge lepton pairs in the final state. The data are found to be consistent with the background prediction, and upper limits are set on the dark photon's coupling to the dark Higgs boson times the kinetic mixing between the standard model photon and the dark photon, α_{D}ϵ^{2}, in the dark photon mass range of [5, 40] GeV except for the ϒ mass window [8.
