Objectives: Dravet syndrome is a developmental and epileptic encephalopathy characterized by early onset epilepsy with multiple seizure types often intractable to treatment. Randomized clinical trials have demonstrated how treatment with fenfluramine significantly reduces seizure frequency in patients with Dravet syndrome. The study aims to (1) describe the efficacy and tolerability of fenfluramine in a Danish cohort of patients with Dravet syndrome; and (2) evaluate whether treatment with fenfluramine reduces epilepsy-related hospital contacts administrated by pediatricians or epilepsy-trained nurses.

Here, we present a series of miniaturized in vitro assays to assess immune cell cytotoxic activity, infiltration, and phenotype in renal carcinoma spheroids with the use of a recently developed multichambered microwell chip. We provide protocols for tumor spheroid formation, NK cell culture, fluorescence labelling and imaging of live or fixed cells directly in the chip together with data analysis.

Methods: Nationwide registry data from Austria/Germany, Sweden and the US were used to estimate the prevalence of renal complications from January 2016 until September 2018.
Multicellular tumor spheroids (MCTSs) can serve as in vitro models for solid tumors and have become widely used in basic cancer research and drug screening applications. The major challenges when studying MCTSs by optical microscopy are imaging and analysis due to light scattering within the 3-dimensional structure. This study describes treatment results, evaluates the effect of clobazam co-medication and compares findings in Dravet and Lennox-Gastaut patients with results in patients with other epilepsies.
Methods: This was a retrospective cohort study including 78 patients treated with off-label cannabidiol in 2016-2019.
Severe cardiomegaly with an atrial septal defect was discovered during necropsy of a subadult White-tailed Eagle (Haliaeetus albicilla) found dead in the wild. A thin membrane composed of fibromuscular tissue separated the left atrium into two chambers, most consistent with that described for cor triatriatum sinister (CTS) in other species. Seventeen months later, necropsy of an adult White-tailed Eagle again revealed CTS.
