This review highlights the importance of incorporating functional genomics into the PSGT framework as a proposed initiative.

However, none of these works have especially assessed the development and application of healthcare devices in an African context.

Understanding the pathophysiology of the disease is crucial for the development of new technologies and therapies for the best clinical management of patients. Since the manipulation of the whole virus requires a structure with an adequate level of biosafety, the development of alternative technologies, such as the synthesis of peptides from viral proteins, is a possible solution to circumvent this problem.

The Importance of Epigallocatechin as a Scaffold for Drug Development against Flaviviruses.

Arboviruses such as Dengue, yellow fever, West Nile, and Zika are flaviviruses vector-borne RNA viruses transmitted biologically among vertebrate hosts by blood-taking vectors. Many flaviviruses are associated with neurological, viscerotropic, and hemorrhagic diseases, posing significant health and socioeconomic concerns as they adapt to new environments. Licensed drugs against them are currently unavailable, so searching for effective antiviral molecules is still necessary.

Background: Metastasis-directed therapy (MDT) significantly delays the initiation of palliative androgen deprivation therapy (pADT) in patients with oligorecurrent prostate cancer (PCa) with a positive impact on patient's quality of life. However, it remains unclear whether the addition of ADT improves polymetastatic free survival (PMFS) and metastatic castration refractory PCa-free survival (mCRPC-FS) and how long concomitant hormone therapy should be given. A significant overall survival (OS) benefit was shown when an androgen receptor targeted agent (ARTA) was added to pADT in patients with metastatic hormone sensitive PCa (HSPC).

Background: HIV recency assays are used to distinguish recently acquired infection from long-term infection among individuals newly diagnosed with HIV. Since 2015, the World Health Organisation recommends the use of an algorithm to assess recency of infections which is based on an HIV recency assay and viral load (VL) quantification. We determined the proportion of recent HIV infections among participants of the VIBRA (Village-Based Refill of Antiretroviral therapy) cluster-randomized trial in Lesotho and assessed risk factors for these recent infections.

A functional role for Serum Amyloid A in the molecular regulation of autophagy in breast cancer.

It has been established that the acute phase protein, Serum amyloid A (SAA), which is usually synthesized by the liver, is also synthesized by cancer cells and cancer-associated cells in the tumor microenvironment. SAA also activates modulators of autophagy, such as the PI3K/Akt and MAPK signaling pathways. However, the role of SAA in autophagy in breast cancer still remains to be elucidated.

Biomechanical behaviour of lizard osteoderms and skin under external loading.

Many species of lizards are partially enveloped by a dermal armour made of ossified units called osteoderms. Lizard osteoderms demonstrate considerable species-specific variation in morphology and histology. Although a physical/protective role (against predators, prey, conspecifics and impact loading during falls) is frequently advanced, empirical data on the biomechanics of lizard osteoderms are scarce, limiting our understanding of form-function relationships.

BrdU Incorporation and Labeling of Nascent DNA to Investigate Archaeal Replication Using Super-Resolution Imaging.

The labeling and specific detection of nascent DNA by the incorporation of thymidine analogs provide crucial information about DNA replication dynamics without requiring the intracellular expression of fluorescent proteins. After cell fixation and permeabilization, specific detection of thymidine analogs by antibodies can be performed using super-resolution imaging techniques. Here we describe a protocol to label nascent DNA using 5'-bromo-2'-deoxyuridine (BrdU) in Haloferax volcanii cells and generate super-resolved images of neo-synthesized DNA foci either by 3D Structured illumination microscopy (3D-SIM) or Stochastic Optical Reconstruction Microscopy (STORM).

[From Kraepelin to McGorry: Scientific Vision and Experiential Narrative around a Major Paradigmatic Shift].

Objectives Until the early 1990s, a pessimistic view of psychotic disorders, based on the Kraepelinian perspective, prevailed.
