- The study aimed to compare clinical features and survival rates between patients with stage I epithelial ovarian cancer and fallopian tube cancer between 2000 and 2010.
- Patients with fallopian tube cancer had higher instances of stage IA disease and grade 3 tumors, alongside a significantly increased rate of breast cancer and BRCA 1 mutations compared to those with ovarian cancer.
- While the 5-year disease-free survival rate was better for fallopian tube cancer patients, there was no significant difference in overall survival rates between the two groups.
