Fulminic acid (HCNO) played a critical role in the early development of organic chemistry, and chemists have sought to discern the structure and characteristics of this molecule and its isomers for over 200 years. The mercurial nature of the extremely flat H-C-N bending potential of fulminic acid, with a nearly vanishing harmonic vibrational frequency at linearity, remains enigmatic and refractory to electronic structure theory, as dramatic variation with both orbital basis set and electron correlation method is witnessed. To solve this problem using rigorous electronic wavefunction methods, we have employed focal point analyses (FPA) to ascertain the limit of optimized linear and bent geometries, corresponding vibrational frequencies, and the HCN + O() → HCNO reaction energy.

The ethynyl radical, CH, is found in a variety of different environments ranging from interstellar space and planetary atmospheres to playing an important role in the combustion of various alkynes under fuel-rich conditions. Hydrogen-atom abstraction reactions are common for the ethynyl radical in these contrasting environments. In this study, the CH + HX → CH + X, where HX = HNCO, -HONO, -HONO, CH, and CHOH, reactions have been investigated at rigorously high levels of theory, including CCSD(T)-F12a/cc-pVTZ-F12.

This study aimed to determine the effects of the Active Early Learning (AEL) childcare center-based physical activity intervention on early childhood executive function and expressive vocabulary via a randomized controlled trial. Three-hundred-and-fourteen preschool children (134 girls) aged 3-5 years from 15 childcare centers were randomly assigned to the intervention (8 centers; n = 170 children) or control group (7 centers, n = 144 children) in May 2019. Participants were mostly Australian (85%) and from slightly higher areas of socio-economic status than the Australian average.

This study systematically examines the interactions of the tetrafluoroborate anion (BF) with up to four water molecules (BF(HO)). Full geometry optimizations and subsequent harmonic vibrational frequency computations are performed using a variety of density functional theory (DFT) methods (B3LYP, B3LYP-D3BJ, and M06-2X) and the MP2 method with a triple-ζ correlation consistent basis set augmented with diffuse functions on all non-hydrogen atoms (cc-pVTZ for H and aug-cc-pVTZ for B, O, and F; denoted as haTZ). Optimized structures and harmonic vibrational frequencies were also obtained with the CCSD(T) method and the haTZ basis set for the mono- and dihydrate ( = 1, 2) structures.

Case studies and grey literature were ineligible for review.

Effects of acceptance and commitment therapy on fatigue for patients with cancer and other chronic health conditions: A systematic review and meta-analysis.

Objective: Fatigue is significantly more prevalent in the chronically ill compared to healthy individuals. Fatigue is one of the most reported and debilitating symptoms in individuals with chronic health conditions. Despite this, there is limited evidence examining the efficacy of psychological interventions to reduce fatigue, with the majority having focused on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy.

In Post Traumatic Osteoarthritis (PTOA), hypomineralization and increased remodeling of the Subchondral bone (SB) are the first stages of tissue alterations. Although these alterations are well depicted and one of the main targets in OA intervention, the link between SB compositional and mechanical properties alterations during OA progression remains scarce in the literature. Here, we hypothesized that SB shows - right after the first sign of gait pattern changes - a decrease in SB tissue formation depicted by (i) a decrease in thickness, (ii) a lower nanoscopic stiffness, and (iii) a decrease in mineral and collagen maturity.
