Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma remains associated with a poor prognosis, even when diagnosed at an early stage. Consequently, it is imperative to carefully consider the available therapeutic options and tailor them based on clinically relevant biomarkers. In our comprehensive review, we specifically concentrated on the identification of novel predictive and prognostic markers that have the potential to be integrated into multiparametric scoring systems.

Background: Radical surgical resection of the primary tumor with mono/bilateral inguinofemoral lymph node dissection is the standard treatment for invasive vulvar squamous cell carcinoma (VSCC) and is frequently related to severe morbidity. Tailoring surgical treatment is of paramount importance, and a comprehensive preoperative evaluation is mandatory. Vascular endothelial growth factor D (VEGF-D) is considered a regulator of lymphangiogenesis involved in tumor spread lymphatic vessels.

Immune status was also evaluated.

A clinical trial of levamisole, an orally effective modifier of the immune response, is reported in women with primary inoperable breast cancer (stage III). After being rendered clinically disease-free by radiotherapy to the breast, supraclavicular area, and axilla, patients were allocated alternately to a control group (no further treatment) and a levamisole-treated group (150 mg orally three times a week on alternate weeks) and were followed-up by physical examination and laboratory tests. In 43 patients (23 control and 20 levamisole), there was significant prolongation of the median disease-free interval (25 v.

The immune reactivity of 100 head and neck cancer patients was studied by means of DNCB, candidine, blastic transformation with PHA, and lymphocyte counts. DNCB reactivity was strong in only 21% of the population and was found impaired in patients with advanced primitive tumors, with more than one primitive tumor, and in patients after radiation. Candidine reactivity was impaired in bigger primitive tumors, positive nodes, and advanced stages, as well as in postradiation patients.
