Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between the cervix and the threat of preterm labor in singleton pregnancies between gestational weeks less than 37 and greater than 37 weeks in correlation with utero-cervical angle (UCA) and cervical length (CL) measurements.

Materials And Methods: We conducted a prospective cohort study with UCA and CL measurements in patients with threatened preterm labor (TPL). Primary outcome was differences in UCA and CL measurements in relationship to maternal characteristics and perinatal outcome between groups.

Aims: We evaluated the clinical value of selected serum biomarkers BMP-4, BMP-2, GDF-15, MMP-9, and GP39 in pregnant women with obesity and the comorbidities diabetes mellitus (DM) and gestational hypertension (GHT).

Methods: This observational study had groups of controls, including healthy pregnant women; women with only obesity, including pregnant women with BMI≥30 kg/m; women with gestational DM (GDM) with obesity, including pregnant women with GDM and obesity; women with pregestational DM (PGDM) with obesity, including pregnant women with PGDM and obesity; and women with GHT with obesity, including pregnant women with GHT and obesity. We measured serum levels of selected biomarkers by ELISA.

Objectives: To compare the 'strictly' active management protocol in women with low risk of postpartum hemorrhage using the expectant management protocol with respect to changes in hematologic parameters, uterotonics, blood transfusions, or additional interventions.

Material And Methods: A randomized controlled prospective trial in which 934 singleton parturients enrolled; 654 were randomly assigned to the active and mixed management groups. The primary outcome parameter was the reduction in hemoglobin concentrations due to delivery, and the secondary outcome parameters were changes in hemoglobin of more than 3 g/dL (ΔHb ≥ 3 g/dL), durations of the third stage of labor, need for additional uterotonic agents, blood transfusions, manual removal of the placenta, and surgical evacuation of retained products of conception.
