Paraovarian cysts in pediatrics. Retrospective analysis of diagnostic and laparoscopic treatment in a single institution.

Purpose: This study presents a 24-year single-center experience in treating pediatric paraovarian tumors. It examines their key characteristics and discusses diagnostic and management considerations.

Methods: We performed a retrospective analysis of medical records for pediatric patients who underwent surgery for an adnexal mass from January 2000 to April 2024.

"Floating ball sign" in the diagnostic imaging of mature ovarian teratomas in children.

The "floating ball sign" (FBS) is a rarely described visual phenomenon found in mature ovarian teratoma imaging. It is characterized by the presence of movable, spherical areas within the cystic component of a tumor. Such visualization is possible both in cross-sectional imaging and ultrasonography.

Ovarian Sparing Surgery in Mature Ovarian Teratomas in Children: A 20-Year Single-Center Experience.

Introduction:  Despite its benign nature, possible bilateral presentation, and a very good prognosis, ovarian sparing tumorectomy (OST) in mature ovarian teratoma (MOT) is not commonly performed. Unilateral oophorectomy has physiological consequences, while bilateral is devastating. The aim of this study is promotion of OST in MOT among children.
