Inflammatory fibroid polyps (IPF), also called Vanek tumors, are rare, benign lesions of mesenchymal origin. They can affect both sexes with a majority incidence between 50-70 years.¹² We present the case of a 53-year-old woman with an outpatient clinic due to severe iron deficiency anemia, gastroscopy and colonoscopy without relevant findings.

Digestive pseuodpolyposis as a form of presentation of digestive metastases of primary gastric leiomyosarcoma.

A 71-year-old male was diagnosed with gastric leiomyosarcoma in 2020 after biopsies of an ulcerated gastric lesion. Despite oncological treatment, he presented bone, liver and lung progression. Fourth line treatment with Pazopanib was started in 2022 with no evidence of intestinal or peritoneal metastases.

Hepatic hemodynamic study: More than just HVPG measurement.

CT-derived liver and spleen volume accurately diagnose clinically significant portal hypertension in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma.

Background & Aims: Clinically significant portal hypertension (CSPH) is a landmark in the natural history of cirrhosis, influencing clinical decisions in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Previous small series suggested that splanchnic volume measurements may predict portal hypertension. We aimed to evaluate whether volumetry obtained by standard multidetector computerised tomography (MDCT) can predict CSPH in patients with HCC.

Primary gastric adenocarcinoma in a patient with Peutz-Jeghers syndrome.

We present the case of a 42-year-old female under study due to dyspepsia without response to empirical treatment, with perioral mucocutaneous pigmentation. A gastroscopy revealed a 5 cm gastric tumor in the antrum, as well as multiple sessile gastric and duodenal polyps smaller than 1 cm. Large-capacity forceps biopsies were obtained and a well-differentiated adenocarcinoma with gastric origin was diagnosed, with over expression of the HER2/neu without microsatellite instability in the context of a hamartomatous polyposis.
