Snow (cryotolerant) algae often form red (pink) spots in mountain ecosystems on snowfields around the world, but little is known about their physiology and chemical composition. Content and composition of pigments in the cells of the cryotolerant green microalgae have been studied. Analysis of carotenoids content in the green (vegetative) cells grown under laboratory conditions and in the red resting cells collected from the snow surface in the Subpolar Urals was carried out.

Here, we examined the effects of the AOX pathway on the state of chloroplast photoprotective systems. plants (4 weeks old), comprising three genotypes (wild type [WT], overexpressing [XX-2] and antisense [AS-12] lines for ), were exposed to moderately high light conditions (MHL, 400 μmol m s) in a short-term experiment (8 h).

It was found that a content of PsbS protein, one of determinants of non-photochemical quenching of chlorophyll fluorescence, increased in mutants by 30% and 100% compared with WT plants in LL and in HL, respectively. Violaxanthin cycle pigments content and violaxanthin deepoxidase activity in HL were also higher in αCA4-mut than in WT plants.

(bugle) in different seasons of the year were studied. During winter, these plants downregulate photosynthesis and the PSA is reorganised, including the loss of chlorophyll, possible reductions in the number of functional reaction centres of PSII, and changes in aggregation of the thylakoid protein complexes.

Variations in the distribution of Ве were analyzed for the period from January to December of 2012. The average seasonal content of Ве in the surface layer ranges from 2.

Eculizumab, a monoclonal antibody blocking terminal complement activation, has been postulated to be an effective agent in the prevention or amelioration of IRI. We performed a single-center prospective, randomized controlled trial involving 57 pediatric kidney transplant recipients between 2012 and 2016.

We proposed that the administration of alemtuzumab several weeks pretransplantation could eradicate peripheral lymphatic cells and promote donor-specific acceptance. This was a single-center, retrospective review of 101 consecutive living donor kidney transplantations in pediatric patients (age 7 months-18 years), performed between September 2006 and April 2010.

The fluorescence parameters, which indicate photochemical/photosynthetic activity, were different in HL and LL grown plants, but no major differences between lamina and midribs were found. An OJIP test (chlorophyll a fluorescence transient induction) of LL grown plants, indicative of the chloroplast electron transport chain, also showed both tissues to be similar.

The leaves of sun plants differed from shade plants in terms of CO(2) exchange rate and photosynthetic pigments content. The total pool XC pigments and the conversion state increased from morning to midday in sun plants.

The carotenoid pool consisted mainly of following xanthophylls: lutein (70%), neoxanthin (7-10%) and a xanthophylls cycle component - violaxanthin (3-15%). Zeaxanthin and antheraxanthin were found in conifer samples collected in December-March while in other species - during all year.
