The studied Schiff-base compounds in this work are multitasked investigated as corrosion inhibitors and also, to improve the physical and mechanical properties of reinforced concrete. The efficiency inhibition of the two novel Schiff-base compounds named (DHSiMF) and (DHSiB) for corrosion of carbon-steel in aqueous media of 1 M HCl was assessed via electrochemical methods and loss in weight. FT-IR, H-NMR spectra and elemental analysis were used to confirm the structure of such compounds.

The great demand on the energy makes the attention toward modifying lubricating oil. This work tends to prepare the following copolymers; octadecylmethacrylate-co-dodecene (CP) and octadecylmethacrylate-co-hexadecene (CP) by free radical solution polymerization using laboratory prepared octadecylmethacrylate monomer with either 1-dodecene or 1-hexadecene. The same monomers also used to prepare their polymers nanocomposite (NP, NP) with 1% of nanomontmorolonite by emulsion polymerization.

Metal corrosion is an important economic problem globally. One of the best ways to protect metal surfaces from corrosion is by the use of corrosion inhibitors, especially surfactants. This study assesses anticorrosion properties of three inhibitor compounds (S1, S2, and S3) of ethoxylate sulfanilamide containing 2, 10, and 20 units of ethylene oxide on carbon steel in 1 M HCl solution.

Ionic liquids have significantly enhanced ecofriendly benefits compared to the traditional inhibitors. In the present work, new four polymeric ionic liquids based on benzoimidazole derivatives were synthesized through the reaction of 2-styryl-1-benzo[]imidazole with alkyl halide to form PIL1. Then, Cl anions were exchanged with different anions through the neutralization reaction to form other investigated polymers.
