Radiative cooling to subambient temperatures can be efficiently achieved through spectrally selective emission, which until now has only been realized by using complex nanoengineered structures. Here, a simple dip-coated planar polymer emitter derived from polysilazane, which exhibits strong selective emissivity in the atmospheric transparency window of 8-13 μm, is demonstrated. The 5 μm thin silicon oxycarbonitride coating has an emissivity of 0.

The complete caloric and thermal equations of state for pentaerythritol tetranitrate (PETN) and its decomposition products are developed. The equation for the crystalline state is obtained with quasiharmonic approximation for the vibrational energy, with the force constants being calculated using density functional theory. The equation of state for the products is derived from equilibrium ReaxFF molecular dynamics simulations.

Randomly oriented high-quality SWCNTs with conductivity enhanced by means of poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) polystyrene sulfonate are used as a window layer and a front electrode. A series of HSCs are fabricated in ambient conditions with varying SWCNT film thicknesses.

It makes them hardly available for kinetic experiments in relevant conditions and a good target for reactive molecular dynamics simulations. In this work, unimolecular and condensed-phase thermal decomposition of pentaerythritol tetranitrate (PETN) are investigated by ReaxFF molecular dynamics.

Context: Russia is experiencing an explosive HIV epidemic, and young people aged 15-29 have the highest incidence of infection. Understanding factors associated with condom use in this age-group is important in developing effective prevention interventions.
Methods: Telephone interviews were conducted with 1,203 Muscovites aged 15-29 in September 2002 to assess condom use, HIV knowledge and sexual behavior.
