Background: Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) ankylosis accompanied by mandibular micrognathia can severely obstruct a patient's upper airway. The obstructive sleep apnea and hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS) resulting from TMJ ankylosis and accompanied by mandibular micrognathia, can severely influence the patient's life.
