Purpose: Glucosyltransferase B enzyme (GtfB) plays an essential role in the pathogenesis of dental caries. It catalyzes the synthesis of water-insoluble glucan from sucrose, which is essential for accumulation of Streptococcus mutans in the dental biofilm.
