Effect of adopting integrated management of childhood illness guidelines on drug use at a primary health care center: a case study from Egypt.

Background: Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI) is a cost- effective strategy that improves the quality of care through the use of evidence- based management protocols for the most common causes of childhood death and illness. Evidence- based clinical guidelines are critical to promoting rational use of medicines. Despite the large number of studies that assessed process and outcome of care delivered to children utilizing IMCI protocol, there is a scarcity of studies that assessed the effect of adopting IMCI on the drug use.

Impact of A Health Education Intervention Program about Breast Cancer among Women in a Semi-urban Area in Alexandria, Egypt.

Unlabelled: Breast cancer is the most common cancer and the second principal cause of cancer deaths in women worldwide as well as in Egypt. The present work aimed to assess the impact of a health education intervention program about breast cancer (BC) among women in a semi-urban area in Alexandria. The study was carried out through pre-post test design in three phases; pre intervention phase, intervention phase, and post intervention phase.

Holistic medicine emphasizes looking for any patient as a whole, putting in consideration the psychological, social, cultural and environmental factors. Family Practice is a good area for applying this approach. The aim of the present study was to assess Family Physicians' knowledge, attitude, practice and performance concerning holistic management of hypertensive patients.

Quality of diabetes care in primary care setting in egypt: an example of health sector reform in developing countries.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the extent of provider adherence to evidence-based guidelines for diabetes care and the extent of glycemic, blood pressure, and lipid control in patients with diabetes in a developing country. A retrospective cohort study was carried out to evaluate diabetes care provided under Health Sector Reform Program (HSRP) in a major medical center in Alexandria, Egypt. Data on care provided for 137 patients were abstracted from medical records.
