Objective: To evaluate whether use of a panniculus retractor device for pregnant patients with body mass index (BMI) 40 or higher and a panniculus improves the completion rate of the fetal anatomic examination.
Methods: This was a randomized trial in which eligible patients with BMI 40 or higher and a panniculus were randomized to undergo their detailed fetal anatomic examination with a panniculus retractor device in place compared with usual care. The primary outcome was the completion rate of 16 prespecified views from the anatomic examination.

Methods: Forty human eyes from forty donors were imaged using the CorVis ST at experimentally controlled intraocular pressure (IOP) of 10, 20, 30, and 40 mmHg, followed by uniaxial strip testing to calculate tensile modulus. The CorVis ST research software tracked the anterior and posterior cornea edges and determined the dynamic corneal response (DCR) parameters.

Methods: The Fink method for refractive correction of Scheimpflug images of a convex pre-deformed (PRE) cornea was implemented for 155 eyes of 155 participants imaged with the Corvis ST (Oculus Optikgeräte GmbH). This method was subsequently modified for the HC state of deformation.
The blood-brain barrier (BBB) hinders the distribution of therapeutics intended for treatment of diseases of the brain. Our previous studies demonstrated that that a soluble form of melanotransferrin (MTf; Uniprot P08582; also known as p97, MFI2, and CD228), a mammalian iron-transport protein, is an effective carrier for delivery of drug conjugates across the BBB into the brain and was the first BBB targeting delivery system to demonstrate therapeutic efficacy within the brain. While this finding is controversial, data on baseline clinical risk factors to predict treatment efficacy of thrombolytic therapy using ambulatory status in patients who suffered AIS and are smokers is not common.
Methods: Between 2010 and 2016, retrospective data on patients who have suffered an AIS and received recombinant tissue plasminogen activator (rtPA) were obtained from Greenville health system registry.
ETV6 is an E26 transformation specific family transcriptional repressor that self-associates by its PNT domain to facilitate cooperative DNA binding. Chromosomal translocations frequently generate constitutively active oncoproteins with the ETV6 PNT domain fused to the kinase domain of one of many protein tyrosine kinases. Although an attractive target for therapeutic intervention, the propensity of the ETV6 PNT domain to polymerize via the tight head-to-tail association of two relatively flat interfaces makes it challenging to identify suitable small molecule inhibitors of this protein-protein interaction.

We used solution NMR spectroscopy, restrained and free molecular dynamics to obtain the structures and investigate dominant motions for a set of DNA duplexes containing CpG sites permuted with combinations of 5-methylcytosine (mC), the primary epigenetic base, and 8-oxoguanine (oxoG), an abundant DNA lesion. Guanine oxidation significantly changed the motion in both hemimethylated and fully methylated DNA, increased base pair breathing, induced BI→BII transition in the backbone 3' to the oxoG and reduced the variability of shift and tilt helical parameters.

However, PPIs do have an established side-effect profile that can be over looked when prescribing these agents outside of their Food Drug Administration (FDA) indications.
Aims: The aim of this audit is to establish that PPIs are often prescribed without any clear documented indication as to why, particularly in the elderly population, despite multiple previous studies conducted which showed an over-use of these medicines.

The objective of this study is to characterize craniospinal compliance and measure the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) pressure waveform as CSF is passively drained during a diagnostic and therapeutic lumbar puncture (LP) in IIH.
Methods: Eighteen subjects who met the Modified Dandy Criteria, including papilledema and visual field loss, received an ultrasound guided LP where CSF pressure (CSFP) was recorded at each increment of CSF removal.
