Increasing anthropogenic influence and climate change are leading to significant transformations in living conditions for indigenous representatives of aquatic communities. The problem of alien species invasions is actively discussed in the example of large rivers and water reservoirs, but medium and small rivers with weak anthropogenic influence have been insufficiently studied in this aspect. With the help of analysis of literary data and the results of our own long-term observations of phytoplankton using morphological and molecular genetic methods in some left-bank Volga tributaries, we identified six invasive species of different taxonomic groups of algae, with a predominance of diatoms.

Gypsum karst lakes are unique water ecosystems characterized by specific habitat conditions for living organisms, including phytoplankton species, as primary producers and mediating biogeochemical cycles in the water bodies. Studies of diversity and structure of phytoplankton communities can be used to identify the specific and typical lake features and plan basin-wide monitoring. The aim of this research was to analyze the structural variables of algocenoses in the small gypsum karstic Lake Klyuchik (Middle Volga basin), atypical for the subzone of mixed coniferous and deciduous forest zone high values of water mineralization (brackish water) and low temperatures.

The paper proposes a technology based on UV-LIGA process for microoptoelectromechanical systems (MOEMS) manufacturing. We used the original combination of materials and technological steps, in which any of the materials does not enter chemical reactions with each other, while all of them are weakly sensitive to the effects of oxygen plasma. This made it suitable for long-term etching in the oxygen plasma at low discharge power with the complete preservation of the original geometry, including small parts.

We report on the first experimental observation of terahertz (THz) wave generation from bismuth mono- and polycrystalline samples irradiated by femtosecond laser pulses. Dependencies of the THz signal on the crystal orientation, optical pulse energy, incidence angle, and polarization are presented and discussed together with features of the sample surfaces. The optical-to-THz conversion efficiency was up to two orders of magnitude higher than for metal at a moderate fluence of ∼1  mJ/cm.

The bis(imido) complexes ((t)BuN[double bond, length as m-dash])2Mo(PMe3)(L) (L = PMe3, C2H4) react with up to three equivalents of silane PhSiH3 to give the imido-bridged disilyl silyl Mo(vi) complex ((t)BuN){μ-(t)BuN(SiHPh)2}Mo(H)(SiH2Ph)(PMe3)2 (3) studied by NMR, IR and X-ray diffraction. NMR data supported by DFT calculations show that complex 3 is an unusual example of a silyl hydride of Mo(VI), without significant SiH interaction. Mechanistic NMR studies revealed that silane addition proceeds in a stepwise manner via a series of Si-H∙∙∙M agostic and silanimine complexes whose structures were further elucidated by DFT calculations.

The reactions of bis(borohydride) complexes [(RN=)Mo(BH4)2(PMe3)2] (4: R = 2,6-Me2C6H3; 5: R = 2,6-iPr2C6H3) with hydrosilanes afford new silyl hydride derivatives [(RN=)Mo(H)(SiR'3)(PMe3)3] (3: R = Ar, R'3 = H2Ph; 8: R = Ar', R'3 = H2Ph; 9: R = Ar, R'3 = (OEt)3; 10: R = Ar, R'3 = HMePh). These compounds can also be conveniently prepared by reacting [(RN=)Mo(H)(Cl)(PMe3)3] with one equivalent of LiBH4 in the presence of a silane. Complex 3 undergoes intramolecular and intermolecular phosphine exchange, as well as exchange between the silyl ligand and the free silane.

The principles and methods of fractal analysis of the species structure of freshwater phytoplankton, zooplankton, and macrozoobenthos communities of plain water reservoirs and urban waterbodies are discussed. The theoretical foundation and experimental verification are provided for the authors' concept of self-similar (quasi-fractal) nature of the species structure of communities. According to this concept, the adequate mathematical image of species richness accumulation with growing sampling effort is quasi-monofractals, while the generalized geometric image of the species structure of the community is a multifractal spectrum.

A thorough clinical observation permitted to distinguish the following psychopathological syndromes: asthenical (the most frequent initial expression of the disorder), depression, psychopath-like and epileptiform.
