Purpose This study aimed to clarify which positions are beneficial for patients with pathological lung diseases, such as acute respiratory distress syndrome, by obtaining lung ventilation and deformable vector field (DVF) images using Deformable Image Registration (DIR). Methods Thirteen healthy volunteers (5 female, 8 male) provided informed consent to participate to observe changes in normal lungs. DIR imaging was processed using the B-spline algorithm to obtain BH-CTVI (inhale, exhale) in four body positions (supine, prone, right lateral, left lateral) using DIR-based breath-hold CT ventilation imaging (BH-CTVI).

With the increase in life expectancy, the number of elderly individuals undergoing hemiarthroplasty and total hip arthroplasty has risen, leading to a higher incidence of implant-related fractures. Diagnosing fractures, especially occult and non-displaced ones, can be challenging even with advanced imaging techniques. This report describes the diagnostic challenges and surgical management of a rare combination of periprosthetic femoral fracture and an ipsilateral acetabular occult non-displaced fracture.

Background: Fosravuconazole L-lysine ethanolate (F-RVCZ) is a prodrug of ravuconazole and a triazole antifungal drug used for the treatment of onychomycosis. It has been reported in previous studies that the kidney injury caused by F-RVCZ is 1% or less.

Due to the technical development of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), the median nerve is evaluated with several MRI protocols. Here, we compared the impact of two different types of diets, a crude diet and an AIN-93G-formula purified diet, on epithelial integrity and the gut microbiota.

Comparison of peripheral cutting balloon angioplasty with conventional balloon angioplasty for recurrent hemodialysis vascular access stenosis: A prospective randomized controlled trial.

Purpose: This study aimed to compare the efficacy and safety of cutting balloon angioplasty (CBA) and conventional balloon angioplasty (control group) for recurrent vascular access stenosis in arteriovenous fistulas.

Materials And Methods: This prospective, randomized single-center clinical trial included patients with hemodynamically significant recurrent vascular access stenosis of an arteriovenous fistula. The Kaplan-Meier method was used to assess primary patency, whereas the log-rank test was used to evaluate differences in patency between groups.

Methods: The medical records of 200 patients with LAPC in the body and tail who underwent proton radiotherapy between February 2009 and January 2021 at the Hyogo Ion Beam Medical Center were retrospectively reviewed to identify prognostic factors that contribute to long-term survival.

Background: Massive rotator cuff tears (RCTs) are complicated by muscle atrophy, fibrosis, and intramuscular fatty degeneration, which are associated with postoperative tendon-to-bone healing failure and poor clinical outcomes. We evaluated muscle and enthesis changes in large tears with or without suprascapular nerve (SN) injury in a rat model.

We report a case of progressive SCD diagnosed after severe anemia. The peripheral symptoms of SCD other than gait disturbance should also be well understood and given close attention.
