Split-liver transplantation (SLT) should be cautiously considered because the right trisection (RTS) graft can be a marginal graft in adult recipients. Herein, we analyzed the outcomes of RTS-SLT in Korea, where >75% of adult liver transplantations are performed with living donor liver transplantation. Among 2462 patients who underwent deceased donor liver transplantations (DDLTs) from 2005 to 2014, we retrospectively reviewed 86 (3.

Competitive inhibition of transcription factors by small proteins is an intriguing component of gene regulatory networks in both animals and plants. The small interfering proteins possess limited sequence homologies to specific transcription factors but lack one or more protein motifs required for transcription factor activities. They interfere with the activities of transcription factors, such as DNA binding and transcriptional activation, by forming nonfunctional heterodimers.

The Arabidopsis anther has a bilateral symmetry with four lobes, each consisting of four distinct layers of somatic cells from the outer to inner side: epidermis, endothecium, middle layer and tapetum. The tapetum is a layer of cells comprising the inner surface of the pollen wall. It plays an important role in anther development by providing enzymes, materials and nutrients required for pollen maturation.

The INK4a/ARF locus (9p21) encodes two unique and unrelated cell cycle regulators, p16INK4a and p14ARF. This study was performed to evaluate the methylation status of p16INK4a and p14ARF genes, as well as its association with p16 and p53 expression, microsatellite instability (MI) status, and various clinicopathologic parameters in sporadic colorectal cancer. Sixty-five cases of primary colorectal adenocarcinoma with a series of clinicopathological parameters were obtained.
