Tumor budding as a prognostic marker in laryngeal carcinoma.

Tumor budding is recognized as an adverse prognostic factor for a few carcinoma types. We evaluated the importance of this finding in 64 laryngeal carcinoma patients treated with surgery and radiotheraphy, with a median follow up of 53 (6-181) months. Budding was determined by re-evaluating hematoxylin-eosin (H&E) stained tumor sections, and classified as mild, moderate, and marked.
