Some microorganisms, including lactic acid bacteria (LAB), can bind to mycotoxins. Its binding ability is useful for mycotoxin mitigation. Conventionally, the binding assay for this ability of microorganisms to mycotoxins has been performed by the so-called in vitro assay.

Non-aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage in aplastic or twig-like middle cerebral artery: A case report and literature review.

Background: Aplastic or twig-like middle cerebral artery (Ap/T-MCA) is a rare vascular anomaly that can cause hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke. Ap/T-MCA can induce aneurysms due to the fragility of the vessel wall, consequently leading to subarachnoid hemorrhage. Herein, we report a case of Ap/T-MCA with subarachnoid hemorrhage without an aneurysm.

Pathological study of proximal tubule mitochondria in diclofenac-induced acute kidney injury model mice.

Diclofenac, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, reportedly targets mitochondria and induces nephrotoxicity via reactive oxygen species. However, there are few detailed reports of pathological analyses of mitochondria and the factors that cause acute kidney injury (AKI) as a result of nephrotoxicity. In this study, we investigated mitochondrial damage in the proximal tubule in AKI mice at 6, 12, and 24 h after administration of diclofenac.

A Case of Tracheo-innominate Artery Fistula after Tracheostomy Successfully Treated with a Covered Stent.

In this current study, a SAR study of the triterpenoid moiety of 2 and 3 has been performed and an oleanolic acid derivative (4) was identified as a novel HIV-1 entry inhibitor. Our specific aim was to compare the clinical outcomes of clinically node-positive UTUC patients who were treated by NAC followed by radical nephroureterectomy (RNU) or upfront RNU followed by adjuvant chemotherapy (AC).

A 23-year-old Falabella gelding kept in Tochigi, Japan, for more than 20 years presented with a recurrent mass of the glans penis that was first noticed about a year earlier.
