Purpose: Sexual orientation is multidimensional, yet existing studies often only assess one dimension. This study examines multiple dimensions of sexual orientation in a sample of Hispanic adolescents using a latent profile analysis. The study also examines differences in levels of adolescent family functioning (i.

Identifying the perceptual-cognitive, physical, and health characteristics that afford effective performance is necessary for developing training and readiness strategies. Measuring readiness by establishing a relationship between the Acute Readiness Monitoring Scale (ARMS) and performance during perceptual-cognitive tasks is essential.

Objective: This research aimed to examine the effect of a six-week neuromuscular-cognitive training program on postural stability, hop performance, and agility with and without perceptual-cognitive challenge in a tennis team.
Design: Double baseline, quasi-experimental pretest-posttest.

Background: Human herpesvirus 6B (HHV-6B) frequently reactivates following allogeneic stem cell transplant (alloHCT). Consensus guidelines note that haploidentical alloHCT may represent a high-risk population for which there is little evidence; this warrants further investigation.
Methods: In this single-center retrospective study, we evaluated 188 consecutive adult patients receiving haploidentical alloHCT between 11/2014 and 11/2020 and compared outcomes between patients with HHV-6B reactivation receiving targeted antiviral therapy and those who were clinically observed.
Infectious disease caused by exposure to Gram-negative bacterial endotoxin lipopolysaccharide (LPS) is recognized to suppress female fertility. However, the effect of varying low-dose endotoxin exposure during distinct stages of follicle development on immune response, reproductive performance, and lamb performance has yet to be elucidated. Therefore, the objective of this study was to evaluate acute phase response, mRNA abundance of inflammatory markers, reproductive performance and lamb growth characteristics of ewes challenged with subclinical doses of LPS.

River restoration emerges as a need to recover naturality and to provide environmental benefits to society. The aims of river restoration aims are diverse and depends on the conditions of the river reach or section to be restored, as well as the objectives of the restoration.

Wait times for dermatologic care are affected by factors such as socioeconomic status, provider distribution, and patient to provider ratios. This inaccessibility to care or prolonged wait times may lead to diagnosis and treatment delays as well as disease progression.

The objectives of this study were to determine MP size, morphology, chemical composition, and loading across urban storm events. Particles were extracted from stormwater samples collected at outfall locations using wet peroxide oxidation and cellulose digestion followed by analysis via attenuated total reflectance (ATR) FTIR.

Unlike bacterial pathogens that overreplicate and harm host cells, infections have a relatively innocuous intracellular lifestyle.

Recent studies show microglia bind to fibrinogen, a glycoprotein involved in thrombosis. An eCM model of Plasmodium chabaudi infection in mice deficient in the regulatory cytokine IL-10 manifests neuropathology, including hypercoagulation with extensive fibrin(ogen) deposition and neuroinflammation.

Nitric acid has been used to extract plastic particles from zooplankton and other biota because it completely digests tissue and exoskeletons, thus reducing interferences. While the impact of acid digestion protocols on several polymers has been demonstrated, advice for quantifying microplastic and interpreting their spectra following nitric acid digestion is lacking.

Many college students acknowledge the risk of skin cancer with tanning bed use, but this is not always a deterrent to the behavior. This study assesses the trends regarding tanning bed usage among university students and analyzes the role that primary care providers (PCPs) and dermatologists could play in reducing participation in this risky habit.

Swallowing starts to mature by 33-34 weeks of gestational age. In neonates, dysphagia is evaluated clinically by speech-language pathologists and a swallow study is ordered for infants with swallowing difficulties.

Our aim was to identify the type of deliveries that are usually supported by clinical midwives and whether these changed over time.

Computed Tomography (CT) is a standard clinical tool utilized to diagnose known lung pathologies based on established grading methods. However, for preclinical trials and toxicity investigations in animal models, more comprehensive datasets are typically needed to determine discriminative features between experimental treatments, which oftentimes require analysis of multiple images and their associated differential quantification using manual segmentation methods. Furthermore, for manual segmentation of image data, three or more readers is the gold standard of analysis, but this requirement can be time-consuming and inefficient, depending on variability due to reader bias.

Occupational therapists (OTs) in pain rehabilitation are established as essential members of comprehensive and multidisciplinary pain management teams, focusing on increasing occupational performance through participation. This study's purpose was to investigate OTs' experiences managing chronic pain and to explore OTs' effectiveness in supporting clients' wellness and occupational performance through interventions.

In addition to the significant morbidity and mortality associated with acute illness from COVID-19, the indirect impact has been far-reaching, including substantial disruptions in chronic disease care. As a result of pandemic disruptions in health care, vulnerable and minority populations have faced health inequalities.
