Nanostructured MnO /g-CN for photodegradation of sulfamethoxazole under visible light irradiation.

The effectiveness of g-CN as photocatalyst is hindered by the rapid recombination of photo-generated electron/hole pairs. To improve its photocatalytic performance, the incorporation of g-CN with co-catalysts can promote charge separation efficiency and enhance redox capabilities. In our study, a two-step approach involving calcination and solvothermal method was utilized to fabricate a proficient MnO /g-CN heterojunction photocatalyst with high photocatalytic activity.

The impacts of cancer treatment on lifestyle habits and mental health in Vietnamese women: an exploratory qualitative study.

Aims: This qualitative study explores the experiences of women after cancer treatment in terms of habit changes and mental health impact.

Method: The study involved 10 women who had undergone cancer treatment, recruited from three major hospitals in Hanoi, Vietnam. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, which were transcribed and analyzed using thematic analysis.

Introduction And Importance: Uterine torsion are extremely rare in pregnancy as few cases have been reported. Torsion of the pregnant uterus is defined as the rotation more than 45 degrees around the long axis of the uterus. It has been referred as, once-in-a-lifetime diagnosis by obstetricians and gynecologists.

Effectiveness of Spironolactone in Terms of Galectin-3 Levels in Patients with Heart Failure with a Reduced Ejection Fraction in the Vietnamese Population.

Background: Galectin-3 is a biomarker that has been demonstrated to play a significant role in myocardial fibrosis and remodeling in the pathogenesis of heart failure. Furthermore, spironolactone has the ability to control galectin-3 levels in heart failure patients. Objectives: The aim of our study was to determine the factors associated with the increase in galectin-3 and the alteration of galectin-3 concentration in patients with heart failure with a reduced ejection fraction after 12 weeks of treatment with spironolactone.

A hollow mesoporous carbon from metal-organic framework for robust adsorbability of ibuprofen drug in water.

Herein, we described a tunable method for synthesis of novel hollow mesoporous carbon (MPC) via direct pyrolysis (800C) of MIL-53 (Fe) as a self-sacrificed template. The structural characterization revealed a hollow, amorphous, defective and mesoporous MPC along with high surface area (approx. 200 m g).

Superparamagnetic nanoparticle-catalyzed coupling of 2-amino pyridines/pyrimidines with -chalcones.

An aerobic coupling of 2-aminopyrimidines or 2-aminopyridines with -chalcones to afford aroylimidazo[1,2-]pyrimidines and aroylimidazo[1,2-]pyridines is reported. Reactions proceed in the presence of CuFeO superparamagnetic nanoparticle catalyst, two equivalents of iodine, oxygen oxidant, and 1,4-dioxane solvent. The catalyst is superior to many common copper or iron complexes.

Human mitochondrial Fis1 links to cell cycle regulators at G2/M transition.

We have previously shown that prolonged mitochondrial elongation triggers cellular senescence. Here, we report that enforced mitochondrial elongation by hFis1 depletion caused a severe defect in cell cycle progression through G2/M phase (~3-fold reduction in mitotic index; p < 0.01).

Salmonella typhimurium phage type 170 in a tertiary paediatric hospital with person-to-person transmission implicated.

Nosocomially-acquired salmonellosis is uncommonly reported in Australia. We report a cluster of gastroenteritis caused by Salmonella Typhimurium phage type 170 (STm 170) centred on a tertiary paediatric hospital in Sydney, New South Wales from 8 to 19 May 2004. A total of 12 children had STm 170 isolated from faecal specimens.
