Here, we present a case of coil embolization of a newly enlarged ULP that was not amenable to TEVAR following a hemiarch aortic arch repair.

Giant Pheochromocytoma Resection Using Partial Cardiopulmonary Bypass and Blood Purification Therapy.

A 44-year-old man was diagnosed with a giant pheochromocytoma in the right retroperitoneal cavity following treatment for heart failure. Subsequent to improvement in cardiac function, the patient underwent a laparotomy to excise the tumor. Due to its considerable size, partial cardiopulmonary bypass and blood purification therapy were initiated to stabilize hemodynamics during the surgical intervention.

[A case of primary central nervous system post-transplant lymphoproliferative disease 14 years after living donor liver transplantation].

The patient was a 51-year-old man who had undergone living donor liver transplantation for type B cirrhosis at the age of 37 years, and had a history of immunosuppressive drug use. He had developed focal seizures starting from his right upper limb, and MRI showed a lesion in the subcortical white matter of his left parietal lobe. Sensory disturbance and paralysis progressed in his right upper and lower limbs, and his brain lesion rapidly enlarged.

Aim: Sarcopenia has been with a decrease in masseter muscle (MM) thickness in high-risk older populations. However, the relationship between sarcopenia and determinants of MM volume (MMV) in the general elderly population remains unclear.

Method: In a cross-sectional study of 1,484 older adults in Tokyo, we evaluated MMV using 3D MRI scanning, appendicular skeletal muscle mass (ASMM), handgrip strength, dietary intake, smoking, insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) levels, and the ACTN3 R577X polymorphism.

AVR with a bioprosthetic valve was performed through a right parasternal thoracotomy. Despite the unfavorable conditions for conventional median sternotomy, AVR was successfully performed through an alternate approach.

Methods And Results: We assessed the relationships among various immune cell types, including neutrophils, macrophages (M1 and M2), B cells, and helper T cells (Th1, Th2, Th17, Treg and Tfh ) in human AD tissue. AD tissues displayed abundant infiltration of immune cells.

In Ga-citrate scintigraphy (Ga-S), visual assessment is used by evaluating renal-uptake comparison with liver and spine and is simple and objective. We adopted the standardized uptake value (SUV) for Ga-citrate and proposed two quantitative indices, active nephritis volume (ANV) and total nephritis uptake (TNU). This study clarified the utility of new Ga-S-based quantitative indices in nephritis management.
