Essential metals such as iron, copper, and zinc are required for a wide variety of biological processes. For example, they act as cofactors in many proteins, conferring enzymatic activity or structural stability. Interactions between metals and proteins are often difficult to characterize due to the low concentration of metals in biological tissues and the sometimes labile nature of the chemical bonds involved.

Research on micron-sized JPs has yielded remarkable insights, showcasing their unique assembly behaviors both in bulk and at interfaces. However, significant challenges persist, particularly in the synthesis of smaller (<500 nm) JPs, which remains complex and difficult to scale up.

Importance: Sleep disturbances in Parkinson's disease (PD) are common and often adversely affect quality of life. Light therapy has benefited sleep quality and mood outcomes in various populations but results to date with conventional light therapy boxes in PD patients have been mixed. We hypothesized that a passive lighting intervention, applied in the morning and designed to maximally affect the circadian system, would improve measures of sleep and mood in PD patients.

Here we describe strategies to foster trial representativeness, with proposed actions at the levels of trial funding, design, conduct and dissemination. In particular, trial representativeness may be increased through broad recruitment strategies and site selection criteria that reflect the diversity of patients in the catchment area, as well as limiting unjustified exclusion criteria and using pragmatic designs that minimize research burden on patients (including embedded and decentralized trials).

To date, there has been no real-time method to determine its specific activity embedded in its native membrane; here, we describe such a new method, which is useful with the inside-out membranes of and other denitrifying bacteria. This new method takes advantage of the native coupling of the endogenous NADH dehydrogenase or Complex I with the reduction of nitrate by Nar through the quinone pool of the inner membranes of .

The objective of this work is to deepen the topic and establish recommendations for the population. From the nutritional point of view, yogurt is a valuable food, for its high content, quality and bioavailability of its nutrients, in a low energy content, its components together with probiotic microorganisms are provided in a matrix that helps achieve greater nutritional and health benefit.

Objective: analyze scientific evidence on the role of nutrition and diet in maintaining muscle and bone health and preventing related diseases. Methods: review of the scientific literature on nutrition and diet in maintaining muscle and bone health.

Methods: A maxillary edentulous patient with 7 implants was selected. The reference implant cast was obtained using conventional methods (7Series Scanner).
Poly ADP-ribose polymerase inhibitors (PARPi) are first-line maintenance therapy for ovarian cancer and an alternative therapy for several other cancer types. However, PARPi-resistance is rising, and there is currently an unmet need to combat PARPi-resistant tumors. Here, we created an immunocompetent, PARPi-resistant mouse model to test the efficacy of combinatory PARPi and euchromatic histone methyltransferase 1/2 inhibitor (EHMTi) in the treatment of PARPi-resistant ovarian cancer.

However, as a new technique compared to more conventional methods, commercially available inks designed and optimized for EHD are currently very limited. To address this challenge, a new silver nanoink platform was developed by synthesizing silver nanoparticles with biobased polymer 2-hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC).

Survival was calculated at 5 and 10 years.

Monocarpic plants, those with a single reproductive cycle that precedes plant senescence and death, tightly regulate both flowering initiation and flowering cessation. The end of the flowering period involves the arrest of the inflorescence meristem activity, known as proliferative arrest, in what has been interpreted as an evolutionary adaptation to maximize the allocation of resources to seed production and the viability of the progeny.
