Analysis of Patients with Urethral Stricture in Kidney Transplant Recipients.

Background: We aimed to assess the rates of urethral stricture in transplant recipients, analyse patients with urethral strictures and present the posttreatment follow-up outcomes.

Methods: Between 2004 and 2023, a retrospective examination was conducted on kidney transplant recipients who underwent removal of ureteral catheters through retrograde cystoscopy at our facility or referred from external centres. This study aimed to evaluate the presence and comparison of microvascular abnormalities in essential tremor (ET) and Parkinson disease (PD) using optical coherence tomography angiography (OCT-A) and to show the relationship between retinal microvascular changes and disease stage in the patient group. A total of 176 eyes, including 26 PD diagnosed according to the United Kingdom PD Society Brain Bank criteria, 31 ET diagnosed according to the Washington heights-inwood genetic study of ET (WHIGET) criteria and 31 healthy controls, were included in the study. Unified PD assessment scale (UPDRS) motor scores, non-motor symptom scale (NMS), modified Hoehn&Yahr stages (mH&Y) and Fahn-Toloso-Marin grading scale were recorded.

Foreign Body in the Breast: A Case Report.

Foreign bodies in the breast are rarely encountered and may infrequently lead to complications such as persistent breast pain, abscess, and/or granuloma formation, pneumothorax, or cardiac tamponade. We aimed to present a case with a foreign body in her right breast, which was diagnostically missed in previous screenings. A 44-year-old asymptomatic woman, who was included in the national breast cancer screening program, was found to have a 2 cm-sized metallic foreign body in the upper-outer quadrant of her right breast via mammographic imaging.

Schiff Base-platinum and ruthenium complexes and anti-Alzheimer properties.

This study investigates the effects of Pt and Ru complexes containing a Schiff base with a diimine structure on Alzheimer's disease. The Schiff base (N1E,N2E)-N1,N2-bis(isoquinolin-4-ylmethylene)benzene-1,2-diamine (I) and the novel Pt(II) and Ru(II) complexes (Ia and Ib) were synthesized and characterized using FTIR, NMR (H, C), mass spectrometry, and elemental analyses. Their ability to inhibit amyloid beta (Aβ) aggregation was determined in vitro using the SH-SY5Y cell line.
