High-power tunable lasers are intensely pursued due to their vast application potential such as in telecom, ranging, and molecular sensing. Integrated photonics, however, is usually considered not suitable for high-power applications mainly due to its small size which limits the energy storage capacity and, therefore, the output power. In the late 90s, to improve the beam quality and increase the stored energy, large-mode-area (LMA) fibers were introduced in which the optical mode area is substantially large.

This condition is firmly coupled with unprovoked seizures stimulated by irrepressible neuroelectrical blasts. Orally taken valproate family has been employed for prophylactic management; however, oral administration is not applicable for critical scenarios, thus calling for medication routes fulfilling necessities of immediate innervation.

Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of 139 men ≥18 years of age who underwent testicular detorsion with fixation (n = 90) or orchiectomy (n = 49) due to testicular torsion in five different tertiary centers between May 2019 and August 2023. Demographic, pre-, peri- and postoperative data were analyzed.
This study investigates the green synthesis of chitosan-based silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) and their application as antimicrobial coatings for food preservation. The effects of three coatings were evaluated on refrigerated tomatoes over 22 days: distilled water (control), 1 % chitosan (CH), and chitosan-based Ag NPs (Ag/CH). The synthesized Ag/CH was characterized by FT-IR, UV-vis spectroscopy, SEM, TEM, DLS, and XRD, confirming successful synthesis and a crystalline face-centered cubic structure.

In this study, the behavioral development of Kangal puppies was investigated through repeated open-field testing, focusing on exploratory behavior, mobility, and responses to novel stimuli. Thirty-three Kangal puppies (20 males and 13 females) from various breeding centers in Sivas Province, Türkiye, were evaluated.

The isolation of thermally unstable and highly reactive organoiron(IV) complexes is a challenge for synthetic chemists. In particular, the number of examples where the C-based ligand is not part of the chelating ligand remains scarce. These compounds are of interest because they could pave the way to designing catalytic cycles of bond forming reactions proceeding via organoiron(IV) intermediates.

However, the importance of the kinase function of IKKα in human physiology remains unknown since no biallelic variants disrupting its kinase activity have been reported. In this study, we present a homozygous germline missense variant in the kinase domain of IKKα, which is present in three children from two Turkish families.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of pregnancy on salivary pH, flow rate, the DMFT index, and CPI sores.
Methods: A total of 198 volunteers (pregnant in different trimesters and non- pregnant) were included for the present observational cross-sectional study.

Background: To investigate the effect of lower border osteotomy on the lingual split pattern and IAN in BSSO procedures.
Materials And Methods: The study comprised 32 patients (64 operated sides) who underwent bilateral sagittal split osteotomy (BSSO) due to dentofacial abnormalities between the periods of April 2021 and April 2022. In the mandible, 32 sides (the conventional group) received standard BSSO surgery, while 32 sides (the modified group) additionally received lower border osteotomy.
This research aimed to adapt the Maternal Gatekeeping Scale into Turkish for use with infants and to evaluate its validity and reliability with parents. The study employed a descriptive survey model, a quantitative research approach. Participants were selected using criterion sampling, a purposeful sampling technique.

This study evaluated the feasibility, safety, caregiver acceptance, and satisfaction of implementing the HEP Approach intervention, a novel EI model based on the EE paradigm. Outcome measures for motor development, individual functional goals, sensory functions, caregiver-provided environmental affordances, and motivation for movement were examined.

As the working horse, we have chosen Yb:YVO due to its blueshifted gain spectrum. While using a single 10 W 952 nm diode for pumping and a semiconductor saturable absorber mirror (SESAM) for mode-locking, we have achieved 266 fs long pulses with up to 1.

In people with low health literacy, accurate and early diagnosis rates decrease, making it difficult to maintain health and compliance with treatment. In our study, we investigated how health literacy and sociocultural parameters affected compliance and awareness in patients with suspected prostate cancer, for whom TRUS-Bx was planned.

This study examines work-life conflict and burnout among power plant employees and discusses the factors associated with these issues.
Materials And Methods: This cross-sectional study focused on employees at three hydroelectric power plants in Turkey.
Objectives: To investigate the severe haematological involvement in children with SLE and assess its clinical associations, treatments, outcome and damage accrual.
Methods: The medical charts of children with SLE in whom haematological involvement was observed were reviewed. Severe haematological indices were defined as autoimmune haemolytic anaemia with a haemoglobin concentration < 8 g/dL, thrombocyte count < 30 000/µL, and neutrophil count < 500/µL.
Objective: To evaluate the relationship between heart failure (HF), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and smoking with the development of urethral stricture (US) by examining the patients who underwent transurethral prostate resection procedure, with and without the development of US in their follow-ups.
Methods: Among the patients who underwent transurethral resection of the prostate, 50 patients who developed US during their follow-ups formed group 1, while a total of 50 patients who did not develop US and were selected by lot formed group 2. The relationship between the patients' data on HF, COPD and smoking status and the development of US was investigated.
