This study evaluated the nutritional status of Syrian refugees in the early adolescent period living in different vulnerable settings. Nutritional assessment of Syrian refugee adolescents is often neglected but essential for a healthy physical, pubertal and mental development. Growth parameters of Syrian refugee adolescents going to a public school in an urban area and in a temporary protection center (TPC) were recorded along with the Turkish adolescents.

The data sample, collected during the 2016-2018 data taking of the LHC, corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 137 at a center-of-mass energy of 13 . The events are required to contain two same-sign charged leptons (electrons or muons) or at least three leptons, and jets.

More efficient designs for food production systems, as well as their logistics, are needed in order to increase food production and to reduce emissions intensity. Specifically, any enhancements done on this purpose would contribute to mitigating climate change.

These event signatures are consistent with direct or indirect production of scalar τ leptons (τ[over ˜]) in supersymmetric models that exhibit coannihilation between the τ[over ˜] and the lightest neutralino (χ[over ˜]_{1}^{0}), and that could generate the observed relic density of dark matter. The data correspond to an integrated luminosity of 77.

Three-dimensional (3D)-printed parts are an essential subcategory of additive manufacturing with the recent proliferation of research in this area. However, 3D-printed parts fabricated by different techniques differ in terms of microstructure and material properties. Catastrophic failures often occur due to unstable crack propagations and therefore a study of fracture behavior of 3D-printed components is a vital component of engineering design.

Background: Our aim was to detect the role of radiological abdominal fat parameters by tomography and stone density by plain X-ray on extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (SWL) stone-free rate.
Methods: The patients who had undergone SWL for a single opaque renal stone < 2 cm in diameter and proximal ureteric stone < 1 cm in diameter were collected retrospectively. The characteristics of patients and stones were recorded.
Two related searches for phenomena beyond the standard model (BSM) are performed using events with hadronic jets and significant transverse momentum imbalance. The results are based on a sample of proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of , collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC in 2016-2018 and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 137 . The first search is inclusive, based on signal regions defined by the hadronic energy in the event, the jet multiplicity, the number of jets identified as originating from bottom quarks, and the value of the kinematic variable for events with at least two jets.

Methods: Seventy-eight (36 females, 42 males) patients with acquired aponeurotic ptosis were evaluated. Pre- and postoperative margin reflex distance, symmetry of height, contour and skin crease, corneal problems, and lagophthalmus were evaluated and compared between the 2 groups.
Results are reported from a search for new particles that decay into a photon and two gluons, in events with jets. Novel jet substructure techniques are developed that allow photons to be identified in an environment densely populated with hadrons. The analyzed proton-proton collision data were collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC, in 2016 at sqrt[s]=13 TeV, and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 35.

Plant-derived polysaccharides are widely used to fabricate hydrogels because of their ease of gelation and functionalization, plus exceptional biological properties. As an example, nanocellulose is a suitable candidate to fabricate hydrogels for tissue engineering applications due to its enhanced mechanical and biological properties. However, hydrogels are prone to permanent failure whilst under load without the ability to reform their networks once damaged.

The results are presented as a function of the charged particle multiplicity in the region . This measurement is sensitive to correlations induced by the underlying event structure over a very wide pseudorapidity region.

The validated embryonic stem cell test (EST) uses cardiac differentiation of mouse embryonic stem cells (mESCs) to predict in vivo developmental toxicity, but does not take into account the stage-specific patterning of progenitor populations into anterior (ventricular) and posterior (atrial) compartments. In this study, we generated a novel dual reporter mESC line with fluorescent reporters under the control of anterior and posterior cardiac promoters.

Allosteric behavior is central to the function of many proteins, enabling molecular machinery, metabolism, signaling and regulation. Recent years have shown that the intrinsic dynamics of allosteric proteins defined by their 3-dimensional architecture or by the topology of inter-residue contacts favors cooperative motions that bear close similarity to structural changes they undergo during their allosteric actions. These conformational motions are usually driven by energetically favorable or soft modes at the low frequency end of the mode spectrum, and they are evolutionarily conserved among orthologs.
