Introduction: the world studies showed the interest in measurement of the buccal or anterior cortical plate thickness. Data indicate a significant superiority of the spongy substance over the compact one in the distal part of the jaw, which makes it possible to think about a higher effectiveness of transcortical injections. The empirical "rule of 10″ provides for the choice of a method of anesthesia in children for primary teeth but demonstrates difficulties with high-quality anesthesia accompanied for permanent teeth.

Background: In addition to traditional craniometric techniques, computer craniometry has been used in recent decades, including stereometric methods, which make it possible to determine the microanatomical spatial relationships and dimensional features of various structures of the skull, in particular the thickness of the inert palate of the maxilla.

Aim: Determination of the gender-specific variability of the thickness of the bony palate at the age of 18-20 years using CT.

Material And Methods: The material of the pilot study were 40 computed tomograms of young males and females aged 18-20 years.

Objective: to describe the main topographic and anatomical features of the clival region and its adjacent structures for improvement and optimization of the extended endoscopic endonasal posterior (transclival) approach for resection of tumors of the clival region and ventral posterior cranial fossa.

Material And Methods: We performed a craniometric study of 125 human skulls and a topographic anatomical study of heads of 25 cadavers, the arterial and venous bed of which was stained with colored silicone (the staining technique was developed by the authors) to visualize bed features and individual variability. Currently, we have clinical material from more than 120 surgical patients with various skull base tumors of the clival region and ventral posterior cranial fossa (chordomas, pituitary adenomas, meningiomas, cholesteatomas, etc.

169 skulls were examined in adults and 58 in children to study variability of parameters and shape of anterior trabecular (sphenoethmoidal) and posterior parachordal (auriculo-occipital) regions of human skull, the border between which is drawn through openings of trigeminal nerve branches. Spatial coordinates of these foramina and anterior and posterior points of trabecular and parachordal regions were obtained using stereocraniobasiometer. The maps of all the regions were plotted.
