Type 1 Autoimmune Pancreatitis in Europe: Clinical Profile and Response to Treatment.

Background & Aims: Autoimmune pancreatitis (AIP) is an immune-mediated disease of the pancreas with distinct pathophysiology and manifestations. Our aims were to characterize type 1 AIP in a large pan-European cohort and study the effectiveness of current treatment regimens.

Methods: We retrospectively analyzed adults diagnosed since 2005 with type 1 or not-otherwise-specified AIP in 42 European university hospitals.

Aims: To determine time trends in the incidence and etiology of acute pancreatitis and identify predictors for in-hospital mortality.

Patients And Methods: Retrospective study of 1722 patients with acute pancreatitis admitted to Akershus University Hospital between January 2000 and December 2017. Data were obtained from electronic patient files and computed tomography scans.

Tailored surgery in chronic pancreatitis after implementation of a multidisciplinary team assessment; a prospective observational study.

Introduction: Optimal management of chronic pancreatitis involves several specialties. Selection of patients for surgery may benefit from evaluation by a multidisciplinary team (MDT), similar to cancer care. The aim of this study was to evaluate outcomes in patients selected for surgery after MDT decision.

Stratification of Stage III colon cancer may identify a patient group not requiring adjuvant chemotherapy.

Purpose: Adjuvant chemotherapy for colon cancer with lymph node involvement (Stage III) has been the standard of care since the 1990s. Meanwhile, considerable evolvement of surgery combined with dedicated histopathological examinations may have led to stage migration. Furthermore, prognostic factors other than lymph node involvement have proven to affect overall survival.
