The neodymium(III) complexes with 2-methyl-5-phenylpenten-1-3,5-dione and allyl-3-oxo-butanoate were synthesized. The polycomplexes on their basis and copolymers with styrene and N-vinylcarbazole in ratio 5:95 were obtained by free-radical polymerization. The results of above studies have shown that the configuration of the chelate unit is unchanged during the polymerization.

Carnosine's (CARN) anti-inflammatory potential in autoimmune diseases has been but scarcely investigated as yet. The aim of this study was to evaluate the therapeutic potential of CARN in rat adjuvant arthritis, in the model of carrageenan induced hind paw edema (CARA), and also in primary culture of chondrocytes under H2O2 injury. The experiments were done on healthy animals, arthritic animals, and arthritic animals with oral administration of CARN in a daily dose of 150 mg/kg b.

The objective of the present study was to develop a scientifically sound rationale for the application of infrared laser radiation (IRLR) either separately or in the combination with fluctuation magnetic therapy in the medical rehabilitation of the children presenting with chronic hematogenous osteomyelitis. Another objective was to evaluate the clinical effectiveness of this therapeutic modality. Two achieve these goals, the clinical observations and special research studies were conducted in two directions with the participation of 95 patients at the age varying from 1 to 15 years.

The authors for the first time provide the scientifically-grounded substantiation for the application of electrical stimulation with bipolar pulsed currents for the combined treatment of the patents presenting with acne vulgaris. Experiments on the rabbits have demonstrated the influence of bipolar pulsed currents on the cellular composition of lymph nodes and thereby facilitated the better understanding of certain theoretical aspects of the application of electrical stimulation at large. The clinical study on the application of multi-channel electrical stimulation and microcurrent therapy showed that these physical factors may cause remodeling of immunogenesis in the patents presenting with acne vulgaris manifested as the normalization of the cellular composition of peripheral blood (leukocyte, lymphocyte, T- and B-lymphocyte counts and immunoglobulin levels).

Two new isostructural cobalt(II) and nickel(II) polynuclear complexes with 2-(phosphonomethyl)aminosuccinic acid, H4PMAS, namely, Na[Co12(PMAS)6(H2O)17(OH)]·x2H2O, 1·x2H2O, and Na[Ni12(PMAS)6(H2O)17(OH)]·xH2O, 2·xH2O, have been synthesized for the first time from aqueous solutions and studied by single crystal X-ray diffraction, infrared, and UV-visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy; TG/DTA analysis; and magnetochemistry. Both 1 and 2 crystallize in the rhombohedral crystal system with the R3[overline] space group with 1/6 of the Co12(PMAS)6 or Ni12(PMAS)6 moieties in the asymmetric unit. The X-ray refinements reveal the presence of 18 water sites, but unit cell charge balance requires that one water molecule must be an OH(-) anion, an anion which is disordered over the 18 sites.
