[An evaluation of the status of the goiter endemic in the city of Yaroslavl by using ultrasonic screening].

An investigation of the population of districts of the Yaroslavl region with the help of ultrasonic screening has shown high efficiency of this method as compared with traditional ones for the assessment of the state of stromous endemic. The investigation allowed a conclusion to be made of changes in the endemic structure, of low efficiency of prophylactic means and necessity of the development of new measures having first of all the ecological significance.
