Effect of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Psychiatric Service Use Among Psychiatric Outpatients.

Objective: Both general medical and mental health services were disrupted during the pandemic. It is unclear how these disruptions played out for people with various mental health diagnoses. We compared change in mental health status and use of mental health services between four psychiatric groups: schizophrenia spectrum disorders, bipolar disorder, unipolar depression, and anxiety/obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).

Untargeted Metabolomic Biomarker Discovery for the Detection of Ectopic Pregnancy.

Ectopic pregnancy (EP) is the leading cause of maternal morbidity and mortality in the first trimester. Using an untargeted metabolomic approach, we sought to identify putative plasma biomarkers using tandem liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry for the detection of tubal EP. This case-control study included the prospective recruitment of 50 tubal EP cases and 50 early intrauterine pregnancy controls.

The Role of Cannabis in the Development of Psychosis.

Cannabis is known to cause psychotic disorders, and the increasing use of cannabis constitutes an important health problem. Growing evidence that cannabis causes the development of psychosis has led to an increase in the number of studies in this field. This review aims to clarify the role of cannabis use in the development of psychosis, discuss the current literature about the underlying neurobiological mechanisms.

Evaluation of Catatonia with Different Assessment Scales in Psychiatry and Neurology.

Objective: Catatonia is a syndrome that can be missed in clinical settings. Diagnosis of catatonia is important because the condition can be reversible and is associated with severe complications. This study aims to screen patients with catatonia admitted to a university hospital's psychiatry and neurology services, examine their characteristics, and compare the coverage of different catatonia scales.

Metabolomic prediction of severe maternal and newborn complications in preeclampsia.

Introduction: Preeclampsia (PreE) remains a major source of maternal and newborn complications. Prenatal prediction of these complications could significantly improve pregnancy management.

Objectives: Using metabolomic analysis we investigated the prenatal prediction of maternal and newborn complications in early and late PreE and investigated the pathogenesis of such complications.
