An innovative model of behavioral healthcare for older adults with serious mental illness, substance use disorders, and dementia.

Introduction: Older adults with serious mental illness (SMI) experience higher rates of medical comorbidities, mortality, hospital readmissions, and total healthcare spending when compared with Medicare beneficiaries without SMI. Although telehealth provides an opportunity to overcome barriers to behavioral healthcare access, older adults face unique challenges when accessing and utilizing telehealth services. We present Author Health's care model, which integrates virtual-first behavioral health care with an interdisciplinary approach to health-related social needs (HRSN) screening and intervention in older adults.

Conquering hypertension in Vietnam: 12- month follow up results from a cluster-randomised controlled trial.

Background: Approximately 20% of adults in Vietnam have hypertension, and management of this chronic condition remains challenging. This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of a multicomponent intervention in reducing blood pressure (BP) in adults with uncontrolled hypertension.

Methods: This cluster randomised controlled trial was conducted in sixteen communities (8 intervention and 8 comparison) in a rural setting in Vietnam (2017-2022).

Impact of Racial and Socioeconomic Disparities on Access to Interspinous Spacer for Treatment of Lumbar Spinal Stenosis: A Nationwide Medicare Analysis.

Background: In mild to moderate lumbar spinal stenosis (LSS) where conservative care treatments fail, minimally invasive treatments, such as interspinous spacers without decompression or fusion (ISD), may be appropriate. While previous studies have demonstrated racial and socioeconomic disparities in the surgical treatment of LSS, there are limited data on how those factors impact accessibility to these procedures. This study explored demographic, socioeconomic, and geographic differences in the use of ISD.

Longitudinal Analysis of the Care Pathway of Patients with Lumbar Spinal Stenosis in the US.
