Comparison of the Effects of Pectoral Nerve Block and Local Infiltration Anesthesia on Postoperative Pain for Breast Reduction Surgery: A Prospective Observational Study.

Objective: To evaluate the effects of the Pecs II block on postoperative pain in patients undergoing breast reduction surgery.

Materials And Methods: This prospective, comparative, and observational study was conducted with 53 patients, with American Society of Anesthesiologists I-II, between the ages of 18 and 65, and undergoing bilateral breast reduction surgery. The patients were divided into two groups: Pecs II block with general anesthesia (Pecs group; n = 26) and local infiltration anesthesia with general anesthesia (control group; n = 27).

Pelvic lipomatosis associated with portal vein thrombosis and hydronephrosis: a case report.

Pelvic lipomatosis is an uncommon disease with no clear etiology and it occurs secondary to deposition of a large amount of fatty tissue in the pelvis. This deposition causes compression to the rectum, bladder, and venous structures. Because of this compression, various symptoms, such as recurrent urinary infections, dysuria, tenesmus, and constipation, have mostly been reported.

Dishevelled proteins and CYLD reciprocally regulate each other in CML cell lines.

Dishevelled (Dvl) proteins are activated by Wnt pathway stimulation and have crucial roles in the regulation of β-catenin destruction complex. CYLD is a tumor suppressor and a deubiquitination enzyme. CYLD negatively regulates the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway by deubiquitinating Dvl proteins.

Expression profiling of stem cell signaling alters with spheroid formation in CD133/CD44 prostate cancer stem cells.

Cancer stem cells (CSC) isolated from multiple tumor types differentiate and when cultured in serum; however, the factors responsible for their differentiation have not yet been identified. The first aim of the present study was to identify CD133/CD44 DU145 prostate CSCs and compare their profiles with non-CSCs as bulk counterparts of the population. Subsequently, the two populations continued to be three-dimensional multicellular spheroids.
