Plastic films for food wrapping, packing are widely used due to their special properties. These fossil fuel derived films are associated with long degradation time, toxicity and environmental pollution. Pineapple waste, sea weed can be very good renewable, alternative carbon sources to produce edible films.

Abnormal production of this superoxide's (reactive oxygen species) is responsible for a number of complications including inflammation, metabolic disorder, cellular aging, reperfusion damage, atherosclerosis and carcinogenesis. Series of novel trisubstituted thiophenyl-1-thiazolyl-2-pyrazoline libraries are synthesized containing 2,5-dichloro thiophene, 5-chloro-2-(benzylthio) thiophene and 5-chlorothiophene-2-sulphonamide, from chalcones in PEG-400 as green solvent.

XO inhibitors may prove to be promising antigout agents. Present investigation describes synthesis, characterization and evaluation of 26 thiazolo-pyrazolyl derivatives V(a-z) for XO inhibitory and free radical scavenging activities.

The hydrolysis activity of olive oil to fatty acid was studied on enzyme-immobilized PPS dendrimers. Enzyme activity was proportional to the enzyme loading, and highest recovered activity was obtained at the medium enzyme loading for both G2 and G3 dendrimers.

Novel affinity chromatography matrices were synthesized using various diisocyanates as bifunctional reagents to couple the macroporous polymeric supports, of controlled particle size distribution, with alpha and beta-cyclodextrins. The optimal conditions to couple the hydroxyl groups of cyclodextrin (ligand) and the polymeric supports through urethane linkages were established iteratively using various diisocyanates.
