Medulloblastoma is the primary malignant embryonic tumor of the cerebellum and the most common malignant tumor of childhood, accounting up to 25% of all CNS tumors in children, but is extremely rare in adults. Despite the fact that medulloblastomas are one of the most malignant human tumors, it is worthy to note that a great breakthrough has been achieved in our understanding of oncogenesis and the development of real methods of treatment. The main objective of surgical treatment is a maximum resection of tumor with minimal impairment of neurological functions, in order to reduce the volume, remove tumor tissue, get the biopsy, and restore the cerebrospinal fluid flow.

Introduction: It is believed that hippocampal exposure plays a major role in the development of memory disorders after cranial irradiation. This effect is evident in whole-brain irradiation and is less certain in local irradiation of intracranial targets. The present study aims to clarify the dosimetric features and dynamics of memory functions after local irradiation of the hippocampus when treating cavernous sinus meningiomas.

Unlabelled: Although the key scene of the hippocampus in memory processes is obvious, the specificity of its participation in information processing is far from being established. Current advanced neuroimaging enables to operate with precise morphometric parameters. was to reveal fine memory rearrangements under mechanical impact on the hippocampus by a neoplasm and radiation exposure in the course of therapy.

By taking into account Bruce Bridgeman's interest in an evolutionary framing of human cognition, we examine effective (cause-and-effect) connectivity among cortical structures related to different parts of the triune phylogenetic stratification: archicortex, paleocortex and neocortex. Using resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging data from 25 healthy subjects and spectral Dynamic Causal Modeling, we report interactions among 10 symmetrical left and right brain areas. Our results testify to general rightward and top-down biases in excitatory interactions of these structures during resting state, when self-related contemplation prevails over more objectified conceptual thinking.
