[Tophaceous gout of the cervical spine, causing cord compression. Case report and review of the literature].

We present the case of a 74-year-old patient with long-standing gout who developed C4-C5 tophaceous gout causing cord compression. The patient had undergone 4 years earlier for a disco-osteophytic cord compression (anterior C4-C5 and C5-C6 discectomy). When admitted, the patient presented quadriparesia which had developed during the previous week in association with acute tophaceous gout on the knees, and the metarsophalangeal articulations, in the context of a bronchial infection.

Hemispheric cerebral gliomas in children with NF1: arguments for a long-term follow-up.

Background: Neurofibromatosis type 1, or peripheral neurofibromatosis, is the most form of common phakomatosis. In some instances, it can be associated with tumors of the central nervous system.

Case Report: We describe four cases of hemispheric cerebral glioma in children with NF1.

Posterior extradural migration of extruded thoracic and lumbar disc fragments: role of MRI.

We report three patients with a sequestrated disc fragment posterior to the thecal sac. The affected disc was lumbar in two cases and thoracic in the third. Disc fragment migration is usually limited to the anterior extra dural space.

[Rhabdoid tumor of the central nervous system. Ultrasonographic, computed tomographic and MRI aspects apropos of a case in an infant].

We report a case of rhabdoid tumor which developed in the IV ventricle in a 4-month-old boy. Cranial ultrasonography, CT-scan and MRI findings are reported and compared with data in the literature.
