Bisphenol-A (BPA) analogues seem inevitable components of numerous domestic products, but these have been identified as agents of teratogenic disorders. This study, therefore, investigated the effect of thymoquinone (TMQ) on the striatum of hypertensive female rats and their F1 male offsprings, on exposure to a mixture of Bisphenol-B, Bisphenol-F and Bisphenol-S (MBFS). Female rats were divided into normotensive and hypertensive groups; and both were treated with MBFS only, MBFS + TMQ, and TMQ only.

This study assessed PBDE congeners in surface water and sediment from the Buffalo River estuary, East London, South Africa. Samples were collected across three seasons in 2020 and analyzed using GC-MS and GC-μECD to respectively identify and quantify analytes. The concentration of ∑PBDEs in the surface water and sediment ranged from n.

Water is an important component of life and plays a vital role in human and animal lives, and because of these essential roles of water to life, access to quality water and in adequate quantity becomes imperative. Subsequently, water/wastewater systems have become established as reservoirs of antimicrobial resistance determinants in the environment. In this study, we carried out the synthesis and characterization of magnetite nanoparticles for use in the removal of genomic DNA of antibiotic resistant Escherichia coli isolate in aqueous system.

Oral antidiabetic agents including the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPARγ) agonists are available for the clinical management of diabetes mellitus (DM) but most are characterized by many adverse effects. In this study, we explore the antidiabetic properties of phytoconstituents from Trigonellafeonumgraecum (Fabaceae) as potential agonist of PPARγ; using in silico molecular docking, molecular mechanics generalized surface area (MM/GBSA)free binding energy prediction, Pharmacophore modeling experiment, and Pharmacokinetic/ toxicity analysis. One hundred and forty (140) compounds derived from Trigonellafeonumgraecum were screened by molecular docking against protein target PDB 3VI8.

Detection of perfluorinated compounds (PFCs) in the environment has been a global concern because of the risk they pose due to their endocrine-disruptive properties. This study analyzed the global trends and research productivity of PFCs from 1990 to 2021. A total number of 3256 articles on PFCs were retrieved from the Web of Science focusing on different environmental and biological matrices.
