Purpose: To identify the equivalent K-readings and total keratometry zones that is optimally suitable for calculating the IOL spheroequivalent according to 7 formulas.

Methods: The study included 40 patients (40 eyes) who underwent uneventful femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery and refractive lens exchange (RLE) with implantation of a trifocal diffractive IOL (PanOptix, Alcon inc.).

The aim of the present study was to analyze a role of the ERK1/2 signaling pathway in the regulation of excitation and inhibitory neurons in the hippocampus and the temporal cortex of Krushinsky-Molodkina rats during seizure development finalizing with ataxia. Analysis was done by Western bloting as well as by immunohistochemistry. The results demonstrated significant up-regulation of ERK1/2 activity in the hippocampus in several seconds after sound stimulation.

It has recently been proposed that extracellular signal-regulated kinases 1 and 2 (ERK1/2) are one of the factors mediating seizure development. We hypothesized that inhibition of ERK1/2 activity could prevent audiogenic seizures by altering GABA and glutamate release mechanisms. Krushinsky-Molodkina rats, genetically prone to audiogenic seizure, were recruited in the experiments.

Article Synopsis
  • Comparative effectiveness research (CER) requires high-quality data from diverse electronic health record (EHR) systems, and uniformity in this data is critical for accurate study outcomes.
  • The CER Hub developed a quality assurance (QA) process using the 'emrAdapter' tool, which conducts quality checks on primary care encounter records and reports data issues for local fixes.
  • After implementing the QA process across six health systems, data quality significantly improved over three iterations, addressing issues such as incomplete mapping of local EHR data to a standardized framework.
