Triple-crises-induced food insecurity: systematic understanding and resilience building approaches in Africa.

The triple crises of the COVID-19 pandemic, conflict and climate change have severely impacted food systems, leading to socio-economic consequences and undermining food and nutrition security across Africa. To address the malnutrition and poverty affecting approximately 700 million people in Africa, there is potential for the One Health approach implementation and operationalization to bring together multidisciplinary solutions for tackling food insecurity and ensuring food safety net. However, there is limited documentation on the potential of the One Health approach system thinking implementation to guide responses to triple crises-induced food insecurity.

IHR-PVS National Bridging Workshop in Cameroon: An interactive and participatory approach to engage stakeholders in the development of a One Health road map.

Introduction: Stakeholders involved in the implementation of the One Health (OH) welcome support for the operationalization of the approach and advice on how to address OH collaboration challenges. The IHR/PVS National Bridging Workshop (NBW) is an operational and outcome-oriented tool approach that allows animal health, human health and other relevant sectors to focus on their coordination. This paper describes how Cameroon leveraged on the NBW success factors to engage stakeholders in strengthening multisectoral collaboration.

Assessing core capacities for addressing public health emergencies of international concern at designated points of entry in cameroon during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Background: Points of Entry (POEs) are at the frontline for prevention, detection and response to international spread of diseases. The objective of this assessment was to ascertain the current level of existing International Health Regulations (IHR) core capacities of designated airports, ports and ground crossings in Cameroon and identify critical gaps for capacity building for prevention, early warning and response to public health threats including COVID-19.

Methods: Data were collected from April to May 2020 in 5 designated POEs: Yaounde Nsimalen International Airport (YIA), Douala international Airport (DIA), Douala Autonomous Port (DAP), Garoua-Boulai ground crossing, Kye-Ossi ground crossing which were all selected for their high volume of passenger and goods traffic.

Health Security Planning: Developing the Cameroon National Action Plan for Health Security.

The health security planning process transforms recommendations from various evaluations into priority actions to strengthen countries' capacity for emergency preparedness using the One Health approach. Although the World Health Organization (WHO) has developed many tools to facilitate the planning process of a National Action Plan for Health Security (NAPHS) across the various components, a series of multisectoral workshops is still needed to complete the process. In this article, we report on the process of developing Cameroon's NAPHS and propose an innovative solution to improve the process.

Evaluation of inpatients Clostridium difficile prevalence and risk factors in Cameroon.

Background: Clostridium difficile, rarely found in hospitals, is a bacterium responsible for post-antibiotic diarrhea and Pseudomembranous Colitis (CPM). C. difficile selective pressure represents potential public health problem due to the production of toxins A and B serious pathologies effects/consequences.
