[The use of sodium nitroprusside aerosols combined with ultrasound in the combined treatment of patients with ischemic heart disease and heart failure].

Use of sodium nitroprusside aerosol in association with ultrasound in 51 patients with IHD plus cardiac failure (stage I-IIA) allowed to reduce the dosage and side-effects of drugs as compared with a group of patients by routine complex methods. The method may be used for treatment and prophylaxis of initial stages of cardiac failure in IHD patients including those with contraindications to cardiac glycosides.

[Feasibility of combined roentgeno-radionuclide studies of the lungs in preventive mass screening of workers in an industrial enterprise].

The results of a combined roentgeno-radionuclide investigation of the lungs were studied in 45 persons at risk of developing chronic nonspecific pulmonary diseases, diagnosed in a mass screening of 3000 workers at an industrial enterprise. The results of fluorographic, roentgenoscopic and roentgenographic investigations of the lungs, roentgeno-pneumopolygraphy and radionuclide investigation of lung perfusion (pulmoscintigraphy with 99mTc-labeled albumin macroaggregates) were compared. During this combined investigation the signs of nonspecific pulmonary diseases were diagnosed in 40% of the patients, changes of the pulmonary blood flow--in 71%, changes in ventilation--in all the examinees.

[Treatment of patients with ischemic heart disease in the initial stage of heart failure using strophanthin electrophoresis].

It was established that strophanthine electrophoresis produced a positive inotropic effect associated with a pronounced improvement of the peripheral blood flow. It is concluded that strophantine electrophoresis is indicated as a method of maintenance treatment in patients with cardiac insufficiency.
