Human parainfluenza viruses (hPIVs) are major contributors to respiratory tract infections in young children worldwide. Despite their global significance, genomic surveillance of hPIV1 and hPIV2 had not previously been conducted in Russia. This study aimed to develop a robust amplicon-based sequencing protocol for these viruses.

Feline panleukopenia (FPL) in cats is caused by either feline parvovirus (FPV) or canine parvovirus (CPV-2), which belong to the same species "Protoparvovirus carnivoran 1". While FPV is widely recognized as the principal cause of FPL, CPV-2 has been detected at a higher rate than FPV in sick cats in a recent Egyptian study. To assess this conflict, the present study aimed to determine which Protoparvovirus carnivoran 1 is commonly associated with FPL in Egyptian cats.

This study aimed to differentiate between HF with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) and HF with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) with respect to patient characteristics, risk factors, comorbidities, and clinical outcomes, incorporating advanced machine learning models for mortality prediction.
Methodology: The study included 1861 HF patients from 21 centers in Jordan, categorized into HFrEF (EF <40%) and HFpEF (EF ≥ 50%) groups.
Background: Ehrlichiosis is a potentially fatal tick-borne disease that can progress to involve the central nervous system (CNS) (i.e., neuro-ehrlichiosis), particularly in cases where diagnosis and treatment are delayed.
