NKG2D is a central activating receptor involved in target recognition and killing by Natural Killer and CD8 T cells. The known role of NKG2D is to recognize a family of self-induced stress ligands that are upregulated on stressed cells such as cancerous or virally infected cells. Fungal pathogens are a major threat to human health, infecting more than a billion patients yearly and becoming more common and drug resistant.

Here, we used TIGIT knockout (KO) mice to demonstrate that mouse TIGIT directly interacts with . Reduced fungal growth and colonization were observed when TIGIT-KO splenocytes were co-cultured with compared to the wild type (WT).

Recent studies revealed its ability to modulate the immune response in the tumor microenvironment (TME), promoting cancer progression and metastasis. Importantly, subsp.

Here we show that PTdNKs provide increased protection of the fetus from Fusobacterium nucleatum (FN) infection. We demonstrate that PTdNKs secrete elevated amounts of the bacteriocidal protein granulysin (GNLY) upon incubation with FN compared to dNKs derived from first pregnancies, which leads to increased killing of FN.

It is a double-stranded DNA virus and its genome encodes among others for 48 different microRNAs (miRs). Current research demonstrated a strong involvement of certain EBV-miRs in molecular immune evasion mechanisms of infected cells by, e.
