Purpose: The aim of this study was to describe nurses' experiences of the prerequisites for implementing family-centered care to prevent pediatric delirium.

Design: The research employed a qualitative, descriptive study design.

Methods: A total of 10 nurses working in the pediatric intensive care unit at 1 university hospital participated in the study.

Long-Term Quality of Life After Pediatric Traumatic Brain Injury Treated in the Intensive Care Unit.

Background: To examine the long-term health-related quality of life (HRQL) after pediatric traumatic brain injury (TBI) treated in the intensive care unit (ICU).

Methods: This retrospective cohort study was conducted using data from four university hospital ICUs in Finland. Children aged < 18 years with TBI treated in the ICU during 2003 to 2013 were included.

Transvaginal Ovum Pick-Up in sows: Impacts on welfare and reproduction.

There are few existing publications that describe transvaginal ultrasound-guided Ovum Pick-Up (OPU) in sows, and the impacts of the procedure for the welfare of the animals are unknown. In this study, we evaluated the effects of OPU, performed following restraint in a claw-trimming chute, on the animal welfare and reproductive health of second parity hybrid sows. The study utilized a generalized randomized block design at a commercial sow pool.

The spatio-temporal distribution of aromatase cytochrome in ovary throughout the canine oestrous cycle.

Context: New animal welfare legislation and ethical guidelines encourage alternative approaches for canine contraception, instead of surgical gonadectomy which is considered invasive and unjustified in healthy dogs.

Aims: Reversible contraception might be achieved by inhibition of aromatase (CYP19), an enzyme catalysing the conversion of androgens to oestrogens. This study provides insights into the spatio-temporal expression and distribution of aromatase in canine ovarian tissue.

Effect of body position on ventilation distribution in healthy newborn infants: an observational study.

Objectives: Newborn infants have unique respiratory physiology compared with older children and adults due to their lungs' structural and functional immaturity and highly compliant chest wall. To date, ventilation distribution has seldom been studied in this age group. This study aims to assess the effect of body position on ventilation distribution in spontaneously breathing healthy neonates.
