How Is Bone Regeneration Influenced by Polymer Membranes? Insight into the Histological and Radiological Point of View in the Literature.

The aim of this study was to analyze published works that investigate the in vivo bone regeneration capacity of polymeric membranes loaded with active substances and growth factors. This scoping review's purpose was to highlight the histological and radiological interpretation of the locally produced effects of the polymer membranes studied so far. For the selection of the articles, a search was made in the PubMed and ScienceDirect databases, according to the PRISMA algorithm, for research/clinical trial type studies.

Background And Objectives: Two of the most exciting new technologies are biotechnology and nanotechnology. The science of nanostructures, or nanotechnology, is concerned with the development, testing, and use of structures and molecules with nanoscale dimensions ranging from 1 to 100 nm. The development of materials and tools with high specificity that interact directly at the subcellular level is what makes nanotechnology valuable in the medical sciences.

The experience of the rigid lockdown in the dental emergency room and urgency care during COVID-19 pandemic: a transnational multicenter observational study.

Objective: The COVID-19 pandemic had a major impact on our lives all over the world. Changes have occurred in daily life as well as in all medical services. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the emergency accesses in four universities' emergency services during the lockdown period from March to June 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Morphology, Cytotoxicity, and Antimicrobial Activity of Electrospun Polycaprolactone Biomembranes with Gentamicin and Nano-Hydroxyapatite.

The aim of this research is to develop new nanocomposite membranes (NMs) for guided bone regeneration from polycaprolactone (PCL), with different concentrations of gentamicin sulfate (GEN) and nano-hydroxyapatite (nHAP) through electrospinning. The obtained NMs were characterized for structure through SEM and AFM, which revealed the influence of GEN and nHAP on the fiber diameter. The addition of GEN lowered the fiber diameter, and the addition of nHAP increased the diameter of the fibers.

Romanian dental students' learning experience related to lifestyle changes imposed by Covid-19 lockdown.

Background And Aim: The SARS-CoV-2 outbreak in Romania was followed by the declaration of an Emergency State and the subsequent lockdown. As all the schools and universities ceased onsite activities, the teaching process continued exclusively online, on different platforms, such as Microsoft Teams or Zoom.

Objectives: The aim of this cross-sectional study is to evaluate how the lifestyle changes imposed by the Covid-19 lockdown and online lectures influenced the learning experience of Romanian dental students, as their point of view could bring new information which might contribute to improving the teaching process.
